I feel like I'm going on this big ramble as I'm just working on a badge for myself (Magnolia :3 ).

This rambling may sound a lil crazy, but I hope it is somewhat followable. While the thoughts are very stream of conscious and not well structured, I do mean what I am saying.

If you seize this power and create from the heart and with intention, then no matter how "bad" your art is, you are infinitely more powerful than those who rely on imitation and shallow replication to gain the appearance of creativity. You are tapping into a magic that belongs only to you.

You don't need to be capable of photorealistic painting, you don't need to write prose to rival Shakespeare, and you don't need to know how to read sheet music. Magic is within you, and so is the creativity to wield it.

I think this is part of why I like punk and its DIY ethos so much.

Art is magic, but art also requires hard work and dedication. Punk deliberately seeks to lower the barrier of entry. Magic is within us all, and punk's DIY ethos tells us all that we are allowed to reach in and seize that power.

To claim someone else's art as your own, to rely on a machine to fabricate image or text, or any other dishonest imitation of creation is only to mimic power, to put on an act pretending you wield something you don't understand.

And to be extra clear, this applies to the raunchiest, most "degenerate" (gosh I hate that word) of porn just as much as it applies to the highest concept, most philosophical and layered of art.

It is all magic vibrating with power, and it is all far more worthy than the pale imitations of genAI

And this is true of any art created with intention by any kind of artist. The source of the power of magic is intention, something gen AI lacks, but is inside every one of us.

Maybe these thoughts are coming to mind as I'm dipping my toes into this power (I'm drawing and having a gay time :3 ), or maybe it's because of the stimulants I've ingested allowing my brain to actually work, Idk.

i really need to be better at recording the thoughts like these I have when my brain goes wild so I can meditate on them and try to find a better way of connecting the dots and laying it out for others to follow xD

... creations and creativity, in a bid to substitute itself as true power. But ideas cannot be destroyed, and while usage of gen AI seems to have a rotting effect on the users, creativity can never truly be destroyed, and real creation is what the heart yearns for. This true magic is eternal.

It wasn't even intended to be commentary on gen AI either, but this is something tech bros and technofascists could never understand. Theirs is artificial, only ever to mimic and try to destroy the true ...

While I do not follow any religion or worship any deities, I was taught the power of God was that of creation, through imagination. Now, I feel there is a power that does indeed come from imagination and the power to create. To wield the pen, you hold a certain magic and become like a creator god.

Art is magic
Words are magic
Relationships are magic
Imagination is magic

All these things have such profound impact on the ability to reshape our reality.

Hey, alongside contacting your representatives, this seems like another thing worth putting a bit of your time into and sharing around. If we could get "reputational risk" taken off the table, even in this current climate, that could create a chilling effect on these kinds of policies
