Once again weirdly delighted that somehow I've developed a real side gig being a DJ for the nerds.
(And yes, I'll be doing a dance at this year's Worldcon as well)
Gas up at least 40 cents a gallon from last week here
Planes on the tarmac at Dayton
At the airport. San Antonio, see you soon!

Between this and the US courts maintaining that "AI" work is not itself copyrightable, good news for actual humans.
Thread. (TLDR: the House of Lords DCC report on AI came down hard on the correct side of the debate, rather than siding with industry lobbyists.)

That's the one I got so I would imagine you'll have your pre-order soon
Indeed there seems to be a problem with the book section of Amazon (at least) and sale links don't seem to work. I'm sure this will be fixed reasonably soon, and in the meantime, a reminder that Amazon is but one retailer, and my books are available many other places, including your local bookstore.
Not how I would choose to have a coronary but I'll allow it
A SeeStar S30 "Smart Telescope" still in its box
My gift to myself for finishing a new book has arrived

Was this in the 90s when he was there for the Grumpy Old Man movies?
I honestly don't remember but I have no residual bad feelings toward him of any sort, so I guess maybe he did? Clearly not a life changing amount of he did.
(It was 1992. The joke was about Ross Perot as Darth Vader. He was going to use it on the Tonight Show. It didn't make the cut.)
I once sold a joke to Kevin Pollack standing in the bathroom at the Beverly Hills Four Seasons
It's a fabulous cruise and you would love it!
IN FACT I DO, and as it's from the 1920s, it may actually BE the instrument George Formby played. I need to take it in, however, as the A string snapped a while back, and it overall needs some general maintenance.
My Sopranissimo uke laying on top of my Fender Fullterton Jazzmaster uke. It is less than half the Fender's size, and the Fender is pretty small.
Here it is in comparison with my concert-sized uke.
(And yes, I'll likely bring it on @jococruise.bsky.social)
A green ukulele, significantly smaller than the cat laying next to it.
So, @amerrill2.bsky.social alerted me to the existence of sopranissimo ukuleles, even smaller than sorprano ukes, which are very small. I decided I must have one. This is the one I got. Cat for scale. It's cute and actually plays nicely.
UGH FINE I GUESS
