unquestionably feral, often dishevelled, sometimes in/elegant guise I said the world was mad, and the world said I was mad, and they outvoted me. Nikon Z8 landscape+nature photographer based in Toronto, Canada.

a photograph of an eastern kingbird on a sumac branch against a green background. the bird has been eating sumac berries, and one small red berry is frozen in mid-air, an inch from the bird's open mouth. in an effort to catch the lost food, the kingbird has opened its wings wide in preparation for leaping after the falling sumac berry.
one of my favourite shots of an eastern kingbird for #WideOpenWings, today's #BirdoftheDay theme.
it was playing around with its food and (maybe accidentally) let go! it managed to catch it in the next fframe, but this is a better shot.

a closeup photograph of a drosera rotundifolia sundew colony on a half-submerged log in an ontario lake. the plants are bright green with healthy red-tinged tentacles and lots of dew, known as mucilage. this mucilage is how they trap insects!
a quick closeup of some extremely happy sundews in #AlgonquinPark, #Ontario

a photograph of a small wave on the lake ontario shoreline. the photo is a bird's eye view of the shoreline, which is dotted with small stones and tiny ridges in the sand created by previous waves. the sun is setting, so each tiny stone casts a long shadow.
just a bunch of little things

lol nah just TTP, you can't see the CN Tower much past Pickering/Ajax IIRC.
an extremely wide panorama showing a fiery red sunset over the toronto skyline. lake ontario is visible in the foreground, but the large cloudforms are the main focus of the image.
been a while since i posted a panorama

a photograph of an empty beach on lake ontario on a sunny october day. the sandy beach is dotted with dune grasses, and a simple rope fence opens to let you onto the beach. the sky is a rich blue with bright white fluffy clouds.
apparently, this is what pickering has been keeping secret all this time: some of it's actually just really pretty. the empty beaches are even inviting in october!

forbes has been purely random trash for at least the last several years. the brand is now synonymous with slop.
another beauty, nicely done
a photograph of a forested island in a small lake. fog and cloud has almost completely obscured the opposite shore, starkly highlighting the island's trees against the pale background. in the foreground, a large piece of the canadian shield sits impassive and unconcerned
happy friday the 13th! it was another #foggyfriday in #AlgonquinPark in this shot

definitely the looney toons version of nero fiddling while rome burns
a photograph of a very young eastern cottontail rabbit sitting on a gravel path. its ears are cocked with blood vessels visible due to the backlighting. the rabbit's tiny size is highlighted by the lens blur and the relative size of the gravel.
behold what is surely the tiniest of tiny buns
.... probably not really, but it's damn tiny!

an early morning photograph of a valley dotted with fields and forests in southern ontario, near the niagara escarpment. undulating hay fields curve through the foreground, with one large oak tree in the middle, it's orange autumn leaves half-fallen. due to the early morning light, the whole image is washed with golden tones.
some ridiculously unrealistic golden light for this dreary february morning. trying to immerse myself in that warmth mentally!

i had to look this up, but you're right ๐
cheers!
a photograph of a road leading down into a valley. on the right side of the frame, a forested hill of trees in full autumn colours, anchored by a red sumac at the base of the hill. along the road, you can look out across the wide expanse of a river valley, showcasing more autumn colours.
Sure missing those colours right now...
