Nitro BioGraphics

I've built a free tool to help you use open-license images like NIH's Bioart collection in a simple interface.

It is a simple drag and drop image editor with high resolution exports and a citation builder - all freely available.

Check it out here! biographics.nitro.bio

The current funding environment is... challenging to say the least. So don't overpay to build scientific figures with overly complicated licenses.

Making custom Jupyter widgets with React is surprisingly straightforward 🐍❀️🌐

1) Build React component
2) `npm run dev` and `jupyter lab`
3) Use anywidget to bridge Python/JS

Why do notebook-to-web-app conversions suck? The frontend handoff.

Instead, give data scientists access to your production component library in their notebooks. Let them prototype real UX, not just backend logic. Faster iterations ultimately mean better products πŸš€

My long-weekend project was getting my UI Components to work in jupyter notebooks - curious to hear how often (if at all) software teams get asked to build complex visualizations or prototype apps into python notebooks

Added the ability to easily grab a sequence from a pdb id and then mask out a section

Built a small sequence generator tool 🧬
You can:
- constrain to specific bases, specific length
- copy as fasta
- free to use, all stored locally!

Tuesday is for launches πŸš€! We've been working to make Gaia a beautiful and powerful protein search tool. Check it out at gaia.tatta.bio and let us know how we did!

We're actively working on Gaia's web interface - please DM me if you have feedback or feature requests!

perhaps _everything_ should be inside your editor?

I use emacs btw.
