The Spring 2026 intake is now open for the TNRD Regional Grant-in-Aid program! Non-profits, societies, and charities can apply for funding for events or projects that have a broad benefit within the Thompson-Nicola region.

All TNRD Eco-Depots and Transfer Stations are closed on Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year's Day except for the Sun Peaks Transfer Station which is open daily from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm during winter months.

The TNRD Board has approved updates to recycling fees for mattresses and boxsprings, effective January 1, 2026, in response to an indefinite delay by the Province of BC to add these materials to its Recycling Regulation.

The TNRD has been informed that BC Assessment decided that proposed changes to valuation of pipelines will not proceed in 2026. These changes would have shifted 23-30% of property taxes paid by pipeline companies onto residential and business property owners.

Multiple atmospheric rivers are forecast to hit the south coast, beginning this evening (Dec 9) and continuing through the weekend. Some parts of the TNRD, particularly the southern Fraser Canyon and Coquihalla corridor, will see significant rainfall.

Hi there Shay and Summer, correct, there is no seasonal change to Pritchard Eco-Depot hours. The TNRD has 27 solid waste sites and only 7 sites adjust their hours between winter and summer.

(In our post, we list 8 sites; Simpcw/ Chu Chua Transfer Station is not operated by TNRD). Hope this helps!
