Funny. Same HS story, but mine was math teacher, Mr. Wagner. This sounds great, though.

I understand that it takes time but the current oil and gas price spikes could be strong incentives to accelerate renewable plans everywhere, even in US.

But, but, if we drill a lot, oil prices will...not change because they are global prices. Would not be surprised to find out that that was their plan.
Disheartening to see anyone taken seriously who says US (or California) oil production protects consumers from Iran war impact. Producers argue world market sets the price. Correct! Oil price reflects value, not proximity, as recent gasoline price jumps show.

Thread. Weak labor market and rising inflation make for an unpleasant mix for working families.

Other green line brach: I once came back from a back treatment at New England Baptist and walked into town faster than the train along Huntington. Oldest subway in the US is not really a mark of distinction.
I wish people would get as upset about innocent civilians suffering from Iran to Israel as they do about gas prices.
Using up some of the limited revenue we have at the very top on tax cuts is not what we should be doing. That money should be used on things like child care, pre-k, housing, food, health care, etc., or hell, I dunno, reversing Trump's historic cuts to SNAP and Medicaid.
Not on tax cuts.

I am grateful to the photographers in the Middle East. They risk their lives to show us the horrors ordinary people endure in this war. You can feel people's pain in those pictures.
A well-preserved Roman leather shoe with elaborate cutout patterns. The design features a high ankle and open section
An adorable #Roman shoe, made for a #baby too young to walk. The shoe imitates the footwear of Roman soldiers (caligae). The cut-out design would have shown off the kidβs socks!

The costs of this Iran war debacle will likely be more than the cost of extending the ACA health insurance subsidies.
If you asked Americans, which do you want: another war in the Middle East or lower health care costs at home, is the margin 90 to 10? 95 to 5?
Here we goβ¦
I donβt think this helps high prices.
An acquaintance working in a clinic was worried abt whooping cough having come from TX to MA just the other day. Good times.
I am going to speak at a conference of pension needs next week and may use a screenshot of your post. Congratulations

Vance is LYING. "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" (H.R. 1) signed by Trump on 4 July 2025, introduced major Medicaid funding cuts βΒ est. at ~ billion to over billion over a decade, significantly threatening financial stability of rural hospitals β linked to potential closures of over 300 rural hospitals.
The administration pushed Congress to pass the big ugly bill, which included massive Medicaid cuts to pay for billionaire tax cuts and accelerated rural hospital closures.
You should see my poor attempts at cultural references. I have gotten only blank stares for years.

This seems, uh, exactly the opposite of what we need in aging society, many people with mobility issues and rising disability rates. It's ageism and ableism rolled into one.
Agreed that this is appalling. Got the blood test and was all set but the worry was not on my medical bingo card.
The Constitution clearly gives Congress the power to spend taxpayer funds, and no law allows the president to halt if he feels some US states arenβt being βgood stewardsβ of the money.
In case thereβs any confusion on this, the Impoundment Control Act forbids it.

Just be honest and say, βWeβre taking health care away from poor people because we donβt think they deserve it.β
You canβt though. Because people recognize the reprehensibleness there.
