There's something deeply obscene and broken about the fact that Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth are bombing elementary schools in an illegal war of aggression, and there's still a sense among the opposition that it has to be explained in terms of gas prices in order to get American voters to care.

"Oil prices are up about 50%. You should expect gas prices to rise about 50%... Gas... about $3 a gallon... you should therefore expect gas to be a bit above $4 a gallon...
So if you get an opportunity to stop by the president's gas station when he's seeing it at $2 a gallon... definitely fill up "

Trumpβs War on Iran Could Screw Over US Farmers
The Middle East supplies a huge amount of the worldβs fertilizer. Conflict in the region has sent prices soaring ahead of the critical spring planting season.
there's a lot going on right now but did you know a massive amount of the world's fertilizer flows through the middle east, and did you know that that fertilizer needs to be shipped to the us *right now* for planting season, and uh did you know we are at war with iran

I understand that it takes time but the current oil and gas price spikes could be strong incentives to accelerate renewable plans everywhere, even in US.

But, but, if we drill a lot, oil prices will...not change because they are global prices. Would not be surprised to find out that that was their plan.

Using up some of the limited revenue we have at the very top on tax cuts is not what we should be doing. That money should be used on things like child care, pre-k, housing, food, health care, etc., or hell, I dunno, reversing Trump's historic cuts to SNAP and Medicaid.
Not on tax cuts.

Curbing the influence of criminals on public officials
Better pay for politicians is associated with less corruption in public procurement.
Higher wages reduced corrupt procurement practices among Italian municipal executives, but increased the likelihood that those officials were subjected to criminal attacks, say researchers at UniversitΓ Roma Tre and NYU. #econsky www.aeaweb.org/research/cha...

I am grateful to the photographers in the Middle East. They risk their lives to show us the horrors ordinary people endure in this war. You can feel people's pain in those pictures.

A well-preserved Roman leather shoe with elaborate cutout patterns. The design features a high ankle and open section
An adorable #Roman shoe, made for a #baby too young to walk. The shoe imitates the footwear of Roman soldiers (caligae). The cut-out design would have shown off the kidβs socks!

The costs of this Iran war debacle will likely be more than the cost of extending the ACA health insurance subsidies.
If you asked Americans, which do you want: another war in the Middle East or lower health care costs at home, is the margin 90 to 10? 95 to 5?

This seems, uh, exactly the opposite of what we need in aging society, many people with mobility issues and rising disability rates. It's ageism and ableism rolled into one.
