If you have ever tried to read free books from sites like Project Gutenberg, you noticed that they can be uncomfortable to read, due to their layouts, type & occasional errors
This project takes those free books and makes them beautiful (and still free). standardebooks.org
One month of @bsky.app:
Good
- Custom domain @username
- Positivity of content/communities
- Starter Packs
- Algo Choice
- Treatment of links
Bad
- No way to bookmark
- Low volume of content
- Low depth of content engagement
- Memes
Ugly
- Refreshing content is useless
- Doesnβt feel real-time
Starter Packs are such a smart way to solve cold start. Much better than the generic follow and category recommendations you get from most social platforms.
Idea for the Warriors in-arena team: track these and call them out live with the Halo audio for βKill, Double Kill, Triple Kill, Overkill.β
I think we're well on our way, @kingjosiah54.bsky.social. I'm barely looking at the other site anymore, and feel like I'm barely missing anything. Partially because we have so many key NBA folks here. But also because engagement from NBA fans is demonstrably/significantly better here.
Hello friendos
Your librarian here with the library tip
Your library might have a collection of Useful Things you can check out for personal use. Anything from tools to baking pans to garden seeds to home projectors to toys to science kits to sports equipment to music instruments. Take a look!
Bluesky needs a bookmarking feature.
βThis isnβt a fast and hard rule, but generally speaking, it is said that a team that tallies seven kills in a game has a 90% chance of winning; others state that eight kills raises that to 98%.β #NBASKY
NBA Twitter wasnβt perfect but really miss the glory days and hoping we can make it bigger and better over here

Bluesky feels like Twitter in all ways except for one very important way. It doesnβt feel alive like Twitter did when a big event was happening.
If youβre looking for a free way to support an author, did you know you can ask your library to stock a book you want to read that they donβt have yet? And usually itβs a very basic online form? Google your library name plus the words βrequest a titleβ or βsuggest a titleβ to find yours.
Do you think media companies will use bluesky or threads (or something else/nothing) in lieu of Twitter/X in live broadcasts anytime soon?
The Nameβ.com Black Friday promotion is live, and the best deal is $4.49 for a .com + .pro! π€―
