AI Agents are like talking to a Jr. Engineer with the entire library of bokks and docs of all languages and eng practices in their head.
If you give them broad, unspecific jobs, they will get stuck or generate garbage. If you give them better guardrails or specs, they can write anything.
The "I can't fix it all in one go, so I won't even try" epidemic is real.
We as engineers often say "that thing has not tests, i can't change it, it's a legacy system" but we also never incrementally add tests to the thing to get it out of that state. Even if we have proven it to be worth it.
