i'm sure it'd be alright, it's just a big thing on my mind relative to how nice people are on average in the playdate sphere. plus steam has a down payment of like a hundred bucks whereas catalog's entry fee is a big ol' goose egg, so i think that's part of it in my mind too

it's been on my minddddd, i just really need to clear that mental hurdle of entering a space where Gamers™, and reviews, and refunds are. at the very least it would be a good practice run for when i totally eventually put pesto on steam

this is actually entirely off-topic, but on the note of "these apple music sidebar tabs" it makes me incandescently angry that double clicking one starts music, but it always sorts by LEAST RECENTLY ADDED and there's seemingly no way to change it. one song in my library has like 100 skips over this

i brought out the SNES con again cuz i thought it'd be good for suika game (literally just left/right and A) but the complete lack of remapping 8 years on is absolutely fucking befuddling. especially with how much more of a priority the switch 2 seems to make it, you'd expect to to actually work

????? so weird. the system level remap doesn't let you touch the sticks that way at all

what do those even map to?? it's not like R stick directions are supported to boot

dawg this controllers so comfy but the lack of home/capture immediately disqualifies it from any regular use. i know within the (some??) NSO apps ZL/ZR get mapped to these functions, but there's NO way to attain it on an OS level. if you try to remap it just says "not this one, suckaaa!!" it's weird

open letter to whomever at nintendo decided to both not include home/capture buttons on the SNES controller repro, while simultaneously COMPLETELY LOCKING DOWN the OS remapping for this controller specifically: fuck you lmao

CRANKY!! i made rowbot with #playdate crank in mind. the idea of using the crank as one oar of a tandem-boating situation is basically what spurred on the idea of "row-bots" as a whole.

working on the writing and story beats for pesto — it's actually surprisingly fun as a "puzzle" in a way i don't get to engage with particularly often. i have a start, i have an end, and some cool stuff that happens in the middle, but i gotta find a way to tie it all together into something cohesive

WOAH! now *that's* one i never expected — HEXA nominated for "best continued support"! over time i added a mission mode, custom mission editor, game achievements, hard mode, a full french translation (thank you @voxy.space!!!!!), and even ported the entire game to PC. i guess it was a lot, huh!

switch 2 OS speedrun optimization strat: in handheld mode. if you hover over a submenu icon with the controller, press A and then tap an empty space on the touch screen immediately after, it cancels the icon entry animation and loads like a handful of fuckin Frames faster
