Consequently alcom is what showed me tauri's issue. It seems all too common for ci builds to be useless and needing to compile yourself because of webkit-gtk deps.
I'm not aware enough to say who's fault it is and where it should be resolved but its an issue I only regularly see with tauri.

100%. I would recommend making sure you can set up alerts for it though and a secure way to remotely shut down everything in the event of longer outages when away.
Simple and boring: Timer plug that you set to only ever shut off at a time when you aren't typically there.
Complicated and fun: script that polls specific outbound addresses to check for network connectivity. If it fails X times then it requests esp32 plug to off and on the device attached to it.

In a similar way, I've always wanted to make my own imgflip for quick meme creation without watermarks but its effort I can't justify expending currently.
I would love an option where it doesn't revert to the default audio device and instead warns me that a device isn't available and makes me acknowledge it before proceeding.
YES! I have lost so many good videos and clips to audio devices just suddenly resetting.
There's a windows/technical reason why it does this but it doesn't make it any less frustrating.
It has to do with the device not being available when OBS starts or something so it reverts to default device.
