And now I'm thinking of Napoleon and his sleevies.

And now I'm thinking of Napoleon and his sleevies.
Just awful.
Good grief - I've just read through and it's incredible π±
The shortlist is next Wednesday, so the end is quite swift π
Thank you βΊοΈ
Ah well the next round reduces the 1000 on the longlist to a maximum of 70 on the shortlist, so I think I have probably run my course. But it's still fab to have got this far.
I think I've probably gone. The final stage whittles down from 1000 to a maximum of 70, so I'm under no illusions... π¬
Thanks βΊοΈ
A zillion AND ONE.
Ta βΊοΈ
Oh that's kind, thank you! βΊοΈ
TIL, while measuring ingredients for a recipe, that when a packet of mozzarella is labelled 260g that INCLUDES THE WATER and what you actually get is just over 150g of cheese.
One of my linoprints has got through to the next stage (now down to just 6% of the original entries). This means one hasn't but GLASS VERY MUCH HALF FULL.
Yes but 'I was obeying orders' has, famously, been solidly rejected as a defence for putting someone in danger - it would have taken roughly two braincells to say "I'll just come along with you, sir". Anyway I see a group of MPs is now summoning the Travelodge CEO to explain WTF.
According to the BBC report a staff member gave him the key and room number. I still do not understand how the person who did that has not been charged with being an accessory.
In this case, he knew only the name. They gave him the room number as well as the key. So helpful.
Not as an adult though?
I'm pretty sure I have never ROFL either....oh wait, there was that time when I was three...
It must be a relief after the anticipation! We enjoyed it too. (And yes not a lot of Wilmslow there ..)
Oh that must have been a lovely feeling, and well deserved
You SHINE Ian.
Ha! I didn't really - it's far too expensive for that! Yes Ian has thoroughly understated his role; he has a name and lines and a fair bit of screentime.
I threw my popcorn in the air.
I honestly don't understand how they, or the member of staff, haven't been prosecuted.
I have just spent a very happy couple of hours at the cinema thoroughly enjoying @bils.bsky.social's starring role in this gentle film, ably supported by lesser-known names like Martin Clunes, Josie Lawrence and Mark Addy.
So many layers of utter awfulness.
I logged in again yesterday for the first time in months, more really to remind myself why I left. One of the first things I saw was a stolen uncredited video going viral - first comment was the OP naming (not linking, just naming) the maker SO THAT'S ALL RIGHT THEN. Promptly logged out again.
Exactly this.
The more I think about it the more I can't understand why the member of staff wasn't charged as an accessory.
I've still got it in my head about 10 minutes after watching it so that's either very good or very bad.
