The ill-fated son

A reference sheet depicting several illustrations of a type of small fantasy creature. The creature is a small, vaguely mammalian biped with enormous arms, a slender body, small legs, and a long thin tail tipped with a bony protrusion. Its head features a pair of long ears, a snout with two slit-like nostrils, a mouth full of massive teeth, and a pair of horns growing from above where the eyebrows would be. It is covered with fur, with a dense, bushy mane, except for its forearms and lower legs which are covered with scales. Its hands and feet are clawed and prehensile. The following fullbody depictions of examples of such creatures are shown: one where it is standing in a neutral pose; one where it is standing on its 'hands'; one where it is lunging forward, its mouth open in a snarl; one where it is leaping forward, a spear held by its feet, a flail attached to its tail, and a cloth wrapped around its neck and eyes; one where it is sitting on the ground with a pensive expression on its face. The following headshot depictions are shown: a forward view of the creature's head (with no hair, to show the skull's shape), and two profile views. In one, the creature is glaring at something unseen, in the other it snarls and shows its fangs.

The demon lords of old bred many creatures, most numerous among which were thralls like these. Originally no more than mindless beasts, ages free from their former masters' influence has allowed them sapience.

I made a little dragon for the Dragons exhibit currently on display at Vancouver aquarium

1: Star dappled centaur

A color illustration depicting two fantasy characters standing upon a hellish, volcanic battlefield, both facing the viewer head on. The first character, Tasmorei, is a centaur-like being, but with the lower body of an enormous wolf or bear-like creature covered in brown fur. She has long brown hair, pointed ears, and a muscular physique. Emerging from her 'waist' are four massive tentacles like those of a squid, positioned around her as if ready to lash out. She glares at her unseen opponent, and her hands are balled up into fists. Mystical fire emerges from the tip of her bushy tail, and she wears armor. To her right and standing behind her is a second character, a slender humanoid figure with antlers and deer ears, producing a ball of magical energy between his palms, as if preparing to cast a spell. He wears armor similar to that of his partner. A sword lies upon the ground, shattered, to the left of Tasmorei.

I received this piece from @frostllamzon.bsky.social earlier this year! Exceedingly happy with it.

Tàsmorei was a terrible mentor, despite her best efforts, but an outstanding warrior, and to her adventuring companions that was what truly mattered.
