The Canadian guy on his podcast was going a little too MAGA and Steve-O made a joke to push back. You can even hear him disengage and go "right.. right.. right.." before he makes that comment (around 54:30). He even apologized profusely for any misunderstanding after the fact.

steveo I have been just as horrified and saddened by the atrocities committed by ICE as everyone else, so it’s come as a complete shock to me that anyone thought I was serious when I made an absurd, sarcastic comment about “most immigrants being murderers.” Factually, less than 0.1% of the human population will ever commit homicide, so of course I don’t believe that. If there’s a group of people more likely to murder anyone, it would be ICE agents, not immigrants. To all of the people sending me angry messages: apologies for the false alarm. I promise you, I wasn’t being serious at all. Man, what a bummer to be misunderstood around that one…

Overall pretty close on policy, including Israel. I'm not happy about the campaign funding for either. I like Talarico but he needs to walk the walk soon if people want to take him seriously about campaign finance reform. It is Texas though, we have to work with what we have.

Right. I was just rewatching this video from before the Trump era, that base was already there, they just needed someone like Trump to embolden them.

Agree 100%. I've often wondered about how we go about "deprogramming" the MAGA base, and I think people like Talarico are part of the solution.
The linked poll had a demographic breakdown by race. Latinos are 60% Talarico vs 31% for Crockett, which tracks for me.
