If someone starts a conversation with you and asks how your day was I guess you can engage and chat a little bit. Even if it's just 30 seconds of conversation done meaningfully might at least help; it doesn't have to be long or divulging too much if it's not comfortable for you
this is so fucked up on so many levels
oh okay, that might be a little tricky if you can't reliably talk to others or if friends and family are inaccessible. Still, retail worker is not really an ideal solution in most scenarios
