How much more evidence do we need? The ultra-rich and the governments supporting them will destroy everything for the sake of profit, power and pride. Nothing is precious to them - not human life, not the living world - except their own wealth and status. Our survival depends on resisting them.
And the Iranians are just going to stop because he says so?

Iβve been out in Three Kings with our team over the past week helping people get enrolled to vote. I picked up 5 more enrolments on Sunday afternoon including a couple of first time voters. We want everyone to have their say this year so let me know if you need help checking your enrolment details.
Credit to Nick Smith here, it's actually very refreshing to see this
Screenshot of Facebook post by ex-National MP, current mayor of Nelson, Nick Smith: I congratulate my former Deputy Mayor, Rohan O'Neill-Stevens, on his selection as the Greens candidate in Nelson for this year's General Election and wish him the very best for a strong ranking on the Greens party list. Rohan was an outstanding Deputy Mayor for our city, bringing a sharp mind, generous spirit and the voice of a new generation to Council. We often disagreed but we were also able to find common ground and make positive progress on so many issues. I have worked closely with many Green MPs from the party's founders Jeanette Fitzsimons and Rod Donald 30 years ago as an MP on Select Committees, twice as Minister for the Environment and Conservation and more recently as Mayor. Rohan would match up with the best. He has a maturity way beyond his years and gets the responsibilities that go with governance. He is resolute in his views but, unlike too many in the Greens, appreciates other perspectives and can find compromise. These are essential skills the Greens need in an MMP Parliament. Nelson, the Green Party and NZ will be better if Rohan is in our next Parliament and I wish him the very best for November 7th. nzpol
Hilarious - ex-National MP Nick Smith is telling people in Nelson to vote for the Greens candidate in this year's election.
Even the fucking Nats think we should vote for the Green Party, lols.
As well as axing GIDI
Graphic with a dark green background featuring bold yellow and white text. At the top is a stylised G logo with a leaf. The text reads: βLast week: The Luxon Government considers scrapping the Clean Car Standard. This week: New Zealanders are bracing to pay over $3 per litre for petrol.β
βGraphic with a dark green background and large bold text. The text reads: βLuxonβs actions mean that everyday you will be paying more.β The words βyou will be paying moreβ are in larger yellow type.
The price of petrol is rising. Meanwhile, the Luxon Government has cancelled the Clean Car Discount and is potentially scrapping the Clean Car Standard, two options which would reduce our need for fuel in the long term.
Good riddance to an absolute ghoul
The main target - Green MP and former city councillor Tamatha Paul - has hit back: βI put my name and face to everything I say and do because unlike them, Iβm not a coward.β
As an IR professor, it's depressing that this is outperforming all others as the best theory of US foreign policy
It's been another amazing Opposites Day in the United States.
Can we move from the phrase "property flippers" to "parasitic cunts"?

If this whole shit show doesn't convince even the most sceptical people of the need to cut our reliance on imported fossil fuels, nothing will
Even if people are only concerned about the economic impact to their own pocket and not the environmental then it's a no brainer

"Jews don't belong in American society."
Imagine a sitting member of Congress tweeting that. You can't. Thankfully, it'd never happen. And *if* it did, it'd be the end of their career and the biggest story in America.
But Ogles can say this about Muslims without any censure.
The (way more than) $1bn LNG terminal to provide dry year energy security is looking increasingly stupid in light of this
Didn't feel especially reassured to be told we had 20ish days of fuel in country and another 20ish on the way, that's only about 6 weeks and then what?

MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT TE MANATO WAKA 26 March 2025 TenΔ koe Andy, I refer to your email dated 13 February 2025, requesting the following under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act): "I was wondering about the pre-election promise of 10,000 EV chargers and where we're at? Could you please let me know how this is progressing as you're always keen to point out that you only deliver what you campaigned on. I would like to know how many of these have been completed and the projections for 2025 and 2026" I am aware that as at 31 December 2024, there were 1,378 public EV charge points in New Zealand, with another 714 in the pipeline for installation. No yearly targets for installation have been set for the years between now and 2030. This is because decisions on the number of installations that occur in each year will be led by the private sector. To achieve the 10,000 charge point target, Cabinet agreed the Supercharging EV Infrastructure work programme on 15 April 2024 [CAB-24-MIN-0123 refers]. The work programme includes updating the co-investment model and actions to reduce the regulatory barriers inhibiting a rapid rollout of charging infrastructure.
Yep, total bullshit
