I grew up during the Civil Rights Movement. Yes, seeing rights taken away, no autonomy over my OWN BODY, trying 2 decimate what equality we had. It KILLS my soul for all my little g-daughters & young girls all over this "country." Oh, Aaron, how I DO WORRY 4 ALL the young ppl in today's nightmare.

It really is. I go back a little further. I go back to thinking how the world was on September 10, 2001. Then after over a decade of war, Obama gave us hope. Gave us the breathing room to dream. And then it was all shattered in Nov. of 2016. I often remember the good old days.

Hope and change; forward. It was all so positive in seeking a better day for everyone. Contrast that to today’s backward looking rhetoric and bitterness. It is hard to fathom a more negative turn.
If you’re roughly my age, it’s wild to reflect on the optimism for the future Americans felt when Obama was elected — young Americans spontaneously took to the streets to celebrate! — and contrast with what we face today. The falloff over the past 18 years is hard to process.
