My new, open sourced minichord synth
I heard that the Xbox team was around 300 people in the 360 era and multiple thousands by the Xbone era
The 360 was a good product because it had leaders with a clear vision, novel ideas, and a tight team to execute
The Xbone was a bundled mess of corporate interests
Quite good imho
This thing is so sweetβ¦.
Finally getting to play thru DS/3DS and other console games that I never had. AYN Thor. Amazing retro emulator handheld
Along that vein, I also recently listened to GFW #116 where you and Shawn played a beautifully produced βmerchants of coolβ segment, which included SFX and music from your band along with other aspects of things that ended up in A Life Well Wasted youtu.be/IDX2NaHcjGg?...
17 years ago! So cool.
I recently started listing to an archive of βOut of the gameβ and in one of the episodes, you talked about A Life Well Wasted and how youβre hoping to make more episodes
To my surprise, I found that you still are, and theyβre produced so incredibly well. Beautiful work Robert.
Fantastic video
Amazing how far solar + batteries go in situations where theyβre the most reliable option
Excited to see it!
In the 2000βs, it was also sort of like Cuba in the sense that youβd see many, many old American Chevrolets from the 50βs being fixed and driven every day. I think they had huge tariffs on new cars. Looking forward to your video about the tech!
Death stranding 2 feels overrated with review scores of 9s and 10s (and I say this as a big DS fan)
Glad to see a lot more nuanced takes in this Reddit thread from hardcore fans www.reddit.com/r/DeathStran...
Jeff, as a death stranding 2 fan, you reaaally donβt need to play nor enjoy it
Thankfully you donβt need to manage reviews at a large gaming media org where you need reviews on everything new
Today, people follow you to hear about what YOU like (and also really dislike). Itβs ok to not play DS2!
Death Stranding 2 reviews are looking goooood. So excited to play tonight!
@garnettlee.bsky.social do you ever consider podcasting again on the regular? Maybe from an investor/game biz perspective?
You and John D are the people I miss hearing from the most
Andorβs and Bixβs arc was done with bix specifically leaving him to focus on the rebellion (and likely because she knew she was pregnant)
Why would should try to get back in touch with him? Completely invalidates the sacrifice she made when leaving.
The last conversation between Andor and bail organa was SO bad
βDid you sleep well?
βNoβ
βDo you ever?β
βNoβ
βMe neither. We have something in commonβ
Huhh?
This again read like a typical Star Wars show level writing.
The rebel council having no reason to scoff at Andorβs news. Whatβs so unbelievable about the empire building a weapon? It suddenly felt like every other Star Wars show with characters being incompetent to move a plot along. The whole room I was in was yelling wtf?
Andor was an incredible show.
But tbat last episode was SO bad that it left a bad taste in my mouth. It felt like it was written by a completely different crew. Ugh
ive been on a hunt to figure out what games support 480hz (or above). here's what i've found so far
any game that has a fully unlocked frame rate works
any other games that come to mind?
Noticing that many PC games from the early to mid 2010s have an arbitrary limit of 200fps ie:
- doom 2016
- mirrors edge catalyst
- battlefield 4
Iβm buying a PS5 for death stranding 2
Unfortunately not. Thanks for the feedback!
Also, if youβre deving with openXR, I highly recommend using virtual desktop to stream to your Quest 3
Youβll go desktop 2D <-> VR instance instantly x.com/azadux/statu...
+1
I have bobovr m3 pro strap that has a flip up visor functionality, ideal for going VR<->PC super easily
I also have a long USB C cable w/ 20watts plugged into it almost at all times to keep it continually charged (so like an AVP), unless I need to unplug and walk around. Work great
A thread of thoughts on radiance fields, from my keynote at 3DV:
Radiance fields have had 3 distinct generations. First was NeRF: just posenc and a tiny MLP. This was slow to train but worked really well, and it was unusually compressed --- The NeRF was smaller than the images.
This open-air quest 3 facial interface is truly the convertible, drop-top, βfeel and smell the air around youβ accessory of VR

end-to-end latency test for moonlight streaming from my PC (shown on the monitor) to me Steam Deck
Total latency at 60fps is around a frame (16ms). Even less so for 90fps.
Feels fantastic for playing with a controller
the white Core 2 is gorgeous. Ordered!
Whoβs in town for GDC?
