I'd love to take a gap "couple of months" to a year, but our systems are only setup to punish people that do.

I'm so tired of working. I want to be somewhere where you can work to better yourself or earn more but your basic needs are met.
Employment is tied in with crucial life benefits (health insurance, retirement, etc). It shouldn't be this way.
"You could start an argument in an empty house."
"Didn't let the ass hit you on the door out"
"I'm going to stand over here to influence bad decisions...
Oh wait, she's already doing it."
For real.
"The only thing that allows me to bear my infinity, is not having to love anyone."
"You mean not having to love anyone again."
I don't quite remember, but most likely your art drew me in (pun intended).

Both in Arizona.
I attended a public high school and I don't think they ever made us do the pledge. They made us do it a lot in elementary first grade at a private school though.
from reddit r/ExperiencedDevs โข 21h ago Tech-Cowboy An AI CEO finally said something honest (Meta Dax Raad from anoma.ly might be the only CEO speaking honestly about Al right now. His most recent take: "everyone's talking about their teams like they were at the peak of efficiency and bottlenecked by ability to produce code here's what things actually look like - your org rarely has good ideas. ideas being expensive to implement was actually helping - majority of workers have no reason to be super motivated, they want to do their 9-5 and get back to their life - they're not using Al to be 10x more effective they're using it to churn out their tasks with less energy spend - the 2 people on your team that actually tried are now flattened by the slop code everyone is producing, they will quit soon - even when you produce work faster you're still bottlenecked by bureaucracy and the dozen other realities of shipping something real - your CFO is like what do you mean each engineer now costs $2000 extra per month in LLM bills"
someone in AI fucked up and actually told the truth

While here in utah we would settle on getting six weeks of winter period.
I've cancelled my VRC+ and Adobe Substance Painter subscriptions. I find all I'm doing on there is wandering around bored and I'm getting a strong sense that I'm being avoided. I haven't really been inspired to work on avatars either.
I'll still be on occasionally for few folks who want me there.
A drawing of Sonic dusting his hands off while an ICE agent lies crumpled over on the ground behind him. Sonic shouts to the viewer: "ABOLISH ICE! And NOTHING less than that! Not "Defund!" Definitely not "Reform!" "ABOLISH!" You get all that through your head? ...And then we've gotta unmask and do something about every loser that joined ICE!"
Drew one of the best Sonics I've ever drawn, today. OwO
Sadly, this type of strategy will not win you friends at your financial institutions. They're much happier when they can charge you fees and interest.
I did carry a little last year, but it only cost me about $160 in interest overall.
I would also recommend using software to manage all this. A spreadsheet would be fine but there are various fin apps that do wonders at giving you an idea what's safe to spend this month. I personally use and recommend YNAB but be warned it is not the cheapest option out there.
- Have a primary checking account (preferably at a local Credit Union) that you can access locally. This is where all the money stays until its assigned.
- Have a credit card with a rewards program. Pay it off in full every month, only carry a balance when you absolutely need to.
I find a layered approach to finances is best:
- Have savings account (preferably high-yield) for your 1-6 months of expenses. Do not touch it.
- Have a checking account for your annual/semi-annual expenses. Do not touch until the bill comes in. If you can get a good interest yield on it, better.

If you see this, don't participate. It's a rigged study by Lisa Littman and unethical researcher J. Michael Bailey meant to undermine access to care. Spread the word.
