The dad of one of my kids' friends worked at the Target nearby and they had a fucking ridiculous $2m/yr budget for armed security guards.
The amount of losses they had due to shrinkage? $1m.
All at a time where it was proven hiring more staff to be around helped more than armed goons.
I swear, you look through my family's Target account and our last purchase from Target was Jan. 18th 2024.

No. Being a writer is about a lot more than a word count. When I am working on a rough draft novel, yes, I'll push to a goal, but most days are occupied by heavy research, reading, revisions, or searching for small markets.
