The spiral galaxy M 94 in Canes Venatici is an easy object to observe due to its bright centre with an inner ring of young stars. This photo, which I took over 3 nights in January with an exposure time of 12 h, also shows the faint outer ring of stars. #astrophotography π

Fantastic image! π
Rosette Nebula
I photographed the Rosette Nebula again after five years. Several attempts, incorrect framing, discarded color channels, and unfavorable lighting conditions turned the project into an adventure

Very nice image nonetheless π€©
LBN 728
LBN 728 - another very faint nebula in Ursa Major.
I collected these photons in January 2025 at Observatory Hoher List with my mobile Apo setup.

Looks great, Thomas! π
Thanks a lot! π
Thank you!
Thanks a lot, Andreas!
Again a very faint target which is challenging even with Hyperstarβ¦ π
Yes indeed thereβs galactic cirrus there. Iβve read that in this article. They used broadband data to enhance it in an otherwise narrowband project.

Thanks a lot, Phillip! βΊοΈ Iβm not sure. The structure is just in the R channel and G/B are just featureless blobs. Itβs an extremely faint target but maybe Iβll add more data one day. Would be interesting to shoot it with a longer focal length but that would probably take ages π€£
@kat-astro-bot.bsky.social⬠what do you see?
PuWe 1 is one of the largest and faintest planetary nebula known. Its apparent size almost reaches that of a full moon! It lies in the constellation of Lynx at a distance of about 1200 light years.
PuWe 1 captured from my dark site in southern France π«π· ππ
This was shot on the EdgeHD 8 with Hyperstar at f/2 for a total integration time of about 6.5 hours using an OSC cam with the Baader UHCL filter.

The Crab Nebula (M 1) in the constellation Taurus was the second prominent supernova remnant that I captured this January. It is already visible with larger binoculars, but all the nice filaments only show up in the photo. Total integration: 6h 26min #astrophotography π

Beautifully processed! Very nice work, Andreas π€©
Two-panel mosaic of the Jellyfish Nebula (IC 443) taken with an astro camera ASI294mc Pro through a telescope C8 with a total exposure time of 16,5 h.
The Jellyfish Nebula (IC 443), a prominent supernova remnant in the constellation Gemini, was my first attempt at a mosaic. The idea only came to me during data collection, but after some challenging editing, I am kind of happy with the result. π #astrophotography

That looks very nice, Andreas! π€©
Amazing π€©π
Thanks to you, orphaned elephants always have a home.
For the youngest, that means a Keeper beside them through the night β sleeping above them, waking for feeds, offering comfort when they need it most.

Thanks a lot!
Thank you! I started this as an assumed quick and short SHO project but it escalated again very quickly to 50 hours! π π In my defence I have to state that OIII and SII were rather faint π
Merci beaucoup, Martial!
Merci beaucoup!
Thank you!
Thanks a lot! It doesnβt matter that you understand the details, itβs very complicated π Iβm glad you like it π
Vielen Dank, Phillip!
