It works well with Pano Scrobbler. I haven't gotten a single wrong scrobble with LB, but LastFM have a lot of overlaps or wrong ones.

Yep, they only use some data. And they nave too many annoying overlaps they won't fix because they don't have enough people to check and split artists, albums, etc.

I've been considering making @listenbrainz.org my primary scrobble service now that they cae push to LibreFM and LastFM. Your observation is useful in my decision. 😁 Currently, I'm pushing to all three separately (other than Rocksky).

There are tools that automates these, then all you have to do is clean up and double check.

I haven't used those since I mainly do corrections and adding other information to existing data.

For those targeting the regular users, branding and recognition outweigh using the correct terms or labels.

A good example is NOSTR. They've had njump.me long before FollowOnBsky and Aturi, but apps and services built for NOSTR are rarely using it. They usually point to their own favourite app or service instead (at least those I've seen with a NOSTR share button).

Well, they did, but only for those who are aware. I myself had to remove it from my blogs (and other sites) because the clicks are low, but Mastodon® is high.

I won't be surprised if the same is happening with Bluesky vs Atmosphere/ATProto/Internet Handle/and so on. Branding and recognition.

Yep, it's a problem. For most sites, it's all about branding and recognition. If Friendica became the most popular, share buttons will be saying Friendica.

Indeed, we had many implementations of agnostic share buttons even way before the first Elon migration batch. But they didn't gain adoption.
