I can’t speak for your situation but something that I’ve believed since the time I was homeless is that having hope for a goal helps you recognize opportunities you might otherwise miss.

Even if you have to tell yourself it’s willful delusion, I think “fake it till you make it” is sage wisdom.

One of my first jobs was food service, then other customer service until I got into my career.

B) People that live with guilty consciences and need to point at others to feel temporarily absolved for their own misdeeds.

The good news is you are not in an eternal torment nexus

The bad news is you exist within a system designed to exploit individuals and discard those that cannot be economically exploited

The other good news is that the system isn’t perfect and there is and will always be hope to reach for

likely understaffed AND underpaid

If you’re ever mad at the service at an establish, ask yourself the question “are they understaffed” and maybe you can get mad at the capitalists that refuse to staff food establishments with employees because they refuse to pay them.
