Today, we had a pleasant 18km hike around the local hills, with red kite overhead and frogspawn under foot. 5.5 hours, and back in time for tea and welshcakes!

I'm on the 1525 service from Manchester to Bournemouth, which only has four carriages today. Every seat is taken and almost everyone with a reservation has had to oust someone from their seat, and the vestibules (crumple zones) are packed. There must be enough people to fill another set.
