The subway ad that just says "control what AI says about your brand" kinda gives away the game huh
LLM proliferation has always been about controlling what information is fed to people.(Spoiler: its gone be more and more ads)

Sheriffs across the country make it a point to publish booking photos of every person they arrest and they run them in the local paper.
This is extraordinarily bad
I feel like it should be more widely unpopular that in the past year weβve witnessed the creation of an American Stasi required to meet arrest quotas who utilize an AI technology created by a company run by a sweaty raisin of a billionaire who thinks Greta Thunberg is the antichrist.
While you're at it, paste that into the alt text
I like writing code, and having a bot spit out something 50% as good in 50% of the time is not a good tradeoff, even if the technology wasn't inextricably linked to all of the evil in the modern world
This thing where the entire California state budget is reliant on whether a sufficient number of unicorns IPO every year is a problem, actually. We shouldnβt decide whether schools can afford toilet paper based on the marketβs vibes about Databricks
Declaring that no quarter will be given unequivocally violates international humanitarian law. Indeed, ordering that no quarter will be given, threatening an adversary therewith or conducting hostilities on this basis is prohibited and constitutes a war crime.
Horrifying use of the technology aside, this guy is really bad at explaining what's going on.
I guess Palantir is scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to finding guys who will stand on stage and talk about doing crimes against humanity
a photo of a bus stop sign on the side of a huge road with zero sidewalks and zero shade, but for some reason thereβs at least a trash can there.
like this is so bleak
Website is back up, go read cool shit about cool people looking out for their community and putting city leaders to shame
Ah the link from the email works:
www.safestreetrebel.com/blog/communi...
Their website appears to be down though, I was gonna link to the blog
I love getting @safestreetrebel.com emails
By linking the smart glasses to Googleβs image generator, Nano Banana, Bohn shows how you can instruct them to doctor up an image on the fly. In the video demo, Bohn asks Gemini to take a picture of people in the room using the smart glasses, but then superimpose them over the βreally cool church in Barcelona that I forget the name of.β Based on the demo, it seems to do exactly that, taking people in the room and using AI to essentially Photoshop them in, so it looks as though theyβre standing in front of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.
What is the pro-social use of this feature.
I call this "LinkedIn posting". But not sure if it has a different origin
Yeah, definitely not something an individual can solve on their own
For me I picture 3 main categories of single-use plastic in my life with different solutions:
1) Groceries packaging
2) Take-out packaging
3) non-food packaging
Yeah this crosses my mind every once in a while but I haven't put too much thought into it yet.
How would I eliminate all this single-use plastic? Are there many of those Bring-Your-Own-Container stores, and are they practical?
takes a mild amount of subversion to mainstream American culture to live car free, but itβs doable and even enjoyable in some communities
Living plastic free (or even plastic light!) seems impossible; i respect the hell out of anyone figuring out both individual/systemic solutions to change that
Republicans, when talking about war and absolutely nothing else.
My guys are ON IT.
the largest state university in ohio quite literally banned sidewalk chalk while one of epstein's biggest supporters still has his name all over half the buildings on campus
Exactly, Bluesky has given perfectly reasonable controls for this stuff. Skill issue
I wish it ain't be the way that it is, but it do, act accordingly.
If you have a sufficiently large following and you expect none of the people who see your posts to be stupid... I fear you might also be stupid.
We should all know by now that quite a large portion of the public lacks basic reading comprehension skills.
Sometimes I also don't want to interact with people, and so I don't post on the interaction website!
It feels like some of you want a personal blog with a comment section that you can control and moderate and that is an option, just do it on other platforms!
Its so goofy to me how many big accounts on here (and twitter before it) constantly complain about how the masses interact with their posts. No one is forcing you to post, and no one is forcing you to read every reply or quote.
Can this be a solution?
This just in: Sun agrees to release infinity million barrels of sunshine every morning
