"This is not a fringe movement. It is a democratic renewal."
AND "A community independent is not an ideological loner, a protest vote, or a spoiler. They are someone who emerges from and answers to their community directly."

PS (You probably know this) You don’t need a battery to join Amber. Common misconception. But it is a bit of work managing your loads during ever-changing expensive periods without one. Having a battery is basically a cheat mode.

Mandatory 3 hours free power in the standing offer might do it for some people, though I imagine there will be accompanying peak rates that will make it very unpleasant without a battery.

25-30c ? 👀
The charging we’re automating at Amber is a LOT cheaper than that. 😁

i, for one, am delighted that we finally have a definition of “woke”

50 years ago, oil crisis led the world to rapid rollout of nuclear energy, and big investment into wind and solar energy viability.
Will be interesting to see if current oil issues lead to more rapid renewables rollout.
Unfortunately the issues may need to get “painful“ to trigger that.

I’ve had EVs for four years and not had a home for any of that time.

I’ve charged at gyms, shops, hotels, offices, restaurants, pubs, swimming pools, climbing walls, MTB parks, forest parks…

Charge where you’re going, and if you aren’t going anywhere in your car get rid of it.

85p sounds like a fast charging price. Is there a different price level for slower charging in places like shopping centres? That’s what happens in Aus, and it’s about 40% lower, making it significantly cheaper than travelling on petrol.

“I won’t buy an EV because I can’t charge at home” is a hilarious take.

DO YOU HAVE A PETROL BOWSER AT HOME?!?!?!

Concerning story about masses of fake news about Australian politics being posted to Facebook by foreign accounts.
Be careful out there!
People are actively trying to manipulate you with lies.

US Markets Overnight:
- War continues. Oil goes up, Dow goes down.
- Trump goes on TV, says war practically over. Oil goes down, Dow goes up.

Wild how the US financial establishment seems to assume he’s telling the truth, not manipulating.

Now to see if the rest of the world believes too.

Things look grim in the markets right now, but at least the U.S. economy wasn’t already being propped up by a massive speculative AI bubble that is highly sensitive to rising energy costs.

The PM may be lying, and may not.
How he’s described the situation (not as “observers”) sounds reasonable to me given what I’d assume the ADF rules of engagement to be in this situation, where Australia has not declared war on Iran.

I have confidence in the Guardian to correctly quote the PM.

Yes, I share those concerns 100%.
It makes sense for us to collaborate closely with our allies, who we ally with on the basis of shared values.
I think this incident exposed a new depth of depravity from the USA admin, and yet another reason to roll back the depth of military cooperation (for now).

I don’t see how complicity can be argued if we didn’t know it was going to happen and our personnel were basically stuck on board and not part of the action. They were witnesses at an unexpected crime.

Now that this event has happened, we 100% should remove all personnel from USA secondments.

LLM-based AIs are *actors*.
Do you hope Colin Firth has recovered from his performance anxiety after ‘The King’s Speech’?
No, because you understand he was acting.
LLM AIs don’t “think”.
They just output.
They are trained to output stuff that makes YOU think that they think.

- Onboard but not involved

When and by whom were the other two said?

If you’re in the USA, there’s a whole bunch of “Stand Up For Science” rallies and protests happening this Saturday you could join.
Check it out. 👇
