really nasty base station issues recently where my head teleports and my horizon tilts, haven't been able to get to the bottom of it despite lots of troubleshooting effort...

running davinci resolve, an obs stream, steamvr, vrchat, a discord stream, firefox, and unity all at the same time probably has my gpu asking why i'm torturing it

why da hell did we name it grapefruit. we already had a grape fruit. it's called Grapes

the one i'm using is called leechblock, it has lots of configuration options

i added a firefox extension that requires i wait for a 20 second timer before loading certain websites. doesn't block them completely, but the idea is to combat my tendency to mindlessly cycle between bluesky reddit and youtube over and over

bwa, was crossing my fingers that i'd be able to get a replacement for a failing base station despite it being past the warranty period, but no luck... may have to buy a new one soon

would love to kick this mentality and make some stuff sometime tho, ~2010ish electro house / progressive house was honestly one of the main foundations of my music taste

idk if this sounds weird but i think house music is the only genre i'm kind of afraid of attempting to produce? for whatever reason i have this feeling that the bar for very specific production intricacies is higher with house, like if i compress my kicks incorrectly i'll be sent to the shark pit

feeling like I'm fighting ADHD and losing pretty badly the past few days, it's been frustrating. need to look back at what helped me in the past, reintroduce some old techniques

decided to real quickly recreate it in fl studio

oh also something that worked well for me for a while in traktor is, within genres loosely color coding stuff by vibe.

for example my old footwork folder, some of it was kinda dark and bassy which i colored red, some was electronicky and almost future bassy which i made green, etc

probably mostly mines a disaster cuz of all the weird duplication that somehow happened + a bunch of old itunes tracks that somehow randomly got added. if i ever get energy to reorganize my plan is to delete tracks, n manually make a few megaplaylists based on vibes (chillout, ravey, dark, etc)

mine's a disaster tbh lmao - a few loose genre grouping smartfolders based on multiple genre labels, e.g. a "rave" smartfolder that searches for happy hardcore, breaks, donk etc. but tbh lots of tracks get lost because they're on the borders of genres so i usually just make new playlists per event
