“Foie gras” is French for “fatty liver.” The dish is produced by force-feeding ducks and geese so their livers become diseased and swell up to 10 times their normal size. Force-feeding involves ramming a metal or plastic foot-long pipe down birds’ throats and pumping their stomachs full of food.

But not every goose is as lucky as Jordan. While Jordan spends his days following his favorite humans, millions of others are viewed only as a product. Considered a “delicacy” by some, foie gras is made from the enlarged livers of ducks or geese.

At Full Circle Farm Sanctuary, Jordan finally learned what it felt like to be safe. Since finding his sanctuary, this sweet boy’s personality has truly blossomed! 🥹 Because he imprinted on humans as a gosling, Jordan is now the most outgoing resident—he literally runs to greet visitors with honks.🪿🧡
