A screenshot from Pokopia with Tangrowth saying “Britto... It seems you might have some sort of mysterious power.”
It didn’t occur to me until I was entering my name in Pokopia last night that I was born to be a Ditto.

Because the Game Boy is cool.
I was in college for much of the Rock Band era and it was perfect.
For the Student Who Said Grammar Doesn’t Matter When People Are Dying What can kill is unclarity. The misplaced modifier, for instance: Having no hope, the wind didn’t move him. Did the wind have no hope? Clearly the writer meant, Having no hope, he wasn’t moved by the wind. But someone no doubt had told the writer about the passive voice, to avoid it at all costs, like passion, and the writer, feeling with a chill how costly life can be when we are passive (the lover’s last knock unanswered at the door), opted for this construction. Having no hope, the wind didn’t move him. The difference is between mystery and confusion, between the wind’s stillness and a soul that won’t be opened. And why not? Why can’t the wind hope? I don’t know. I just know it matters. Everything matters. What is erasing what. Who is bombing whom. It took me all day to misunderstand correctly: Forgetting their children, the conquerors destroyed them. —Joseph Fasano
It matters.
At least the mattress isn’t on the floor?
Oh, there are so many.
Elite Beat Agents, Picross 3D, Meteos, Professor Layton, A Link Between Worlds…
Also, IMHO, Feel the Magic XX/XY and Rub Rabbits are at least worth experiencing.
I may have weekend plans now.
I’ve seen enough. Not about the election. Just generally.
Sure, the industry doesn’t have enough utter chaos at the moment.
Did you at least know about 2016’s “Vanished – Left Behind: Next Generation”?
The problem with Pokopia apparently being very good is that it seems up my alley, my wife is hoping it can fill the Dragon Question Builders void, and my son is showing an increased interest in Pokemon. So all three members of this household may soon be fighting over the Switch 2 on a regular basis.
Ughhh, that sounds terrible.
When we moved last year I was lucky enough to have family nearby to help, so we didn’t hired anyone, but it was so hard on all of us that I thought we should have just hired movers. Maybe we made the right call after all.

I taught my son how to play the main three notes of Zelda's Lullaby on his Piano (we've played the first two dungeons of Ocarina of Time together) awhile back. Sometimes I'll randomly hear it while he's upstairs being noisy, and it makes me happy.
Hey, this sucks.
I helped craft Chicago Public Media's AI Ethics Policy, and it was important to us (especially our very human newsroom folks) that we explicitly forbid anything like this.
I may genuinely need you to send me some links/docs/something. I need to tidy mine up.
My added complexity is sometimes I need a specific region version for RetroAchievement purposes.
I still sometimes think about @griffinmcelroy.bsky.social just chiming in with "I'm super into books right now. ... They're like video games that you can't interact with."
I'm trying to find a way to distill what's happening here into something short enough for a Bluesky post, but I don't think I can do the moment justice that way. There are too many layers.
Giant Bomb is magic, is what it is.
(OK, so it's actually my kid's spring break so I was already taking some PTO days, but the timing is fortuitous for me.)
You take days off work to go on fancy spring break vacations. I take days off work to play old Wii games with RetroAchievements. We are not the same.
With many thanks to @delilahsdawson.bsky.social, my son now has his first books that are signed by the author.
Being my kid, it is perfect that they are video game tie-in books.
Ugh, no component cable support?
This is a huge deal, and the number of people I see pooh-poohing this as just a loss to a supposedly elite group sucks. A) most of the jobs that disappeared were the working-class ones; B) bye bye not just to local coverage but to arts, sports, everything that’s not tech/biz/politics/opinion/advice
To be fair it felt to me like a pretty universal statement.
Great game, Canada!
It was an honor/honour to
play against such fantastic neighbors/ neighbours.
it is cowardice that they don't make them stand on a huge podium on the ice
