It’s with deep sadness that we share that Ulysses Jenkins passed away on February 23, 2026.

A Los Angeles–born pioneer of experimental video, his work across film, performance, murals, and photography reshaped how we see race, history, ritual, gender, and power.

Artist and Catholic nun Corita Kent produced brightly colored screenprints advocating for civil rights, social justice, and peace.🕊️

This work, "that man loves," incorporates text by Jesuit priest & anti-war activist Daniel Berrigan.

The Hammer Museum names Michael Wellen as Chief Curator and Regan Pro as Chief of Learning, Engagement, and Research. Wellen will lead exhibitions and collections, while Pro will guide public programs and community partnerships, shaping how audiences connect with art and learning.

Greg Breda’s artwork asks you to slow down and breathe. 🌿 His portraits create spaces of quiet reflection— where brown-skinned figures are in soft light, surrounded by plants.

Breda uses muted palettes, visible brushwork, and symbolic flowers to hold space for spirituality, patience, and memory.

📆Fri, Jan 30 @ 7:30PM: Join Pritzker Prize–winning architect Shigeru Ban for a special conversation on emergency architecture and sustainable design.

From Paper Log Houses to the Cardboard Cathedral, Ban’s work demonstrates how “temporary” materials can achieve monumentality & community permanence.
