"We did no fundraising in 2025 out of recognition of the current moment, and the 2026 awards are being funded out of pocket by the administrators."
We aren't serious. This should insta-fund every year.
Everyone sees what "writer causes" we do and don't rally behind.
We can change that, though.
Cheers!
We will sing for art and we will do it together! ❤️
Finally and most importantly. It is *obscene* that the Ignyte Awards either have to shout over mass trauma for visibility or fund these themselves.
Donate what you can, but I also know someone can fund these. People talk big - where are they.
(And start seeing that answer, too.)
My visibility is here: (I expect no eyes on this, but I also think the stigma of being proud to share your work is harmful.)
If nothing else, check out the books I've edited, because I'm very, very proud of the work and present it with love and with shared soul. ❤️
For the Locus Awards!
✨ Faraway Dreaming by Ulla Thynell, Atthis Arts, is on the recommended list! ✨
I will also ask you to consider writing in Wolf's Path by Joyce Chng, Atthis Arts in the Collection category.
And Ulla Thynell and Matthew Spencer for artist.
Vote here: poll.voting.locusmag.com
For the Lodestar:
Cold Steel by Joyce Chng, Snowy Wings Publishing
This book fought to exist and it's so lovely. See Joyce.
See the Wolf. See the Swords.
Yes, I love them.
Please consider nominating Ignyte Winning writer and critic Alex Brown for the Fan Writer Hugo. Alex is kind, thoughtful, unbought, and a comprehensive advocate.
They should absolutely, 100% be able to add Hugo Winner to that list.

I would like to see
Ulla Thynell
and
Matthew Spencer
start getting more attention on the Hugo Professional Artist ballot - they are both tremendous and everyone who sees that sees that.
Speaking of Minneapolis small publisher Queen of Swords Press, please consider for Series:
The Astreiant Series by Melissa Scott & Lisa A. Barnett
Queen of Swords Press
2025 Example: Point of Hearts
Again, the RULES for Hugo Editor: Long Form have changed, and the indie editors who have been out *doing it* are now eligible. Please consider
Bill Campbell (Rosarium Publishing)
Catherine Lundoff (Queen of Swords Press)
They have both confirmed eligibility. Do it! And tell people!
Three novellas I really enjoyed (Hugo voters still have time to read then add) are:
Psychopomp & Circumstance, Eden Royce, Tordotcom
Descent, Wole Talabi, Clarkesworld
The Unbearable Taste of Fruit and Wine, R.S.A. Garcia, Android Press
Do vote for short stories and poems! You don't have to read everything or even fill out all the blanks. Just vote for something you loved. Many reviewers out you to guide you on shorter fiction, but one novelette I enjoyed is:
We Begin Where Infinity Ends, Somto Ihezue, Clarkesworld
Hugos! Yes,you have to be a Seattle or LA member - but if you are, the form is actually really easy and not wonky. And you can save as you go, please know your votes are important to real, struggling humans.
Nominate here: nomnom.lacon.org/accounts/log...
Le Guin awards are open. I've nominated many, but I really would love to see:
Amnandi Sails, Zig Zag Claybourne, Obsidian Sky Books
on this list.
What did you love? Please go love it in a place that could really make a difference to someone.

✨ Awards! ✨
Hey. We all know most awards are deeply flawed, but celebrating art is vital in these and all times.
Also, awards are a lot like politics in general. We think we can't affect them when we can.
Here are my Awards Thoughts, fwtwty:
45 minutes left.
Last post.
Thank you all for the support. So many people are grateful.
We sing together. Today, tomorrow, and always.
I love you. I really do.

Many of the people behind this bundle are *fighting* for trans rights. 🏳️⚧️
Down to the last 2 hours and some change. Gobble this one up while you can!

Thank you. Very grateful. ❤️
I'm just full of love for all of you right now.
And it's not trivial; I needed this.
Happening TOMORROW! It's not too late to register and join my favorite twice-monthly live author reading event!
Just a short time left TODAY to pick this up! Support this bundle to support voices and stories you might not get a chance to hear from otherwise!

*sends love to tummy*
btw I won't see the sales until tomorrow - we haven't had a spike day to this point so I'll see what the last day did or didn't do in the morning
I'm happy either way, but yeah, I do feel a lot of responsibility for bringing sales to these wonderful presses and Global Voices.
It's ok, Emily.
