Always funny to meet a person who sincerely thinks that society should collapse, at which point they will probably play a key role in helping construct a new one.

More than that, though, is that I am still so very confused about why the entire stretch of game that is dedicated to introducing Chloe and "foreshadowing" some big reveal exists when the end of the game seemingly makes that entire aspect of the plot utterly irrelevant?

It is all very strange.

It also makes the villains of Requiem seem *mind-bogglingly* stupid when you find out that their entire grand scheme that cost billions of dollars and killed who knows how many people was based entirely on the fact that they couldn't crack a computer terminal's four-letter password.

I think it speaks to how badly the story was handled that you can look up debates about who/what Grace actually is and see two completely different, mutually exclusive interpretations being argued as obviously spelled-out reveals that only dummies would be confused by.

Like, I don't know how much stuff Capcom is saving for DLC or RE10, but it is so lame to build up the mystery of Grace's origins and her connection to the larger Umbrella legacy, only to then conclude with a crummy exposition dump VHS tape that just says, "Don't worry about it, doesn't matter!"

Now that Resident Evil Requiem is out and I'm allowed to talk about the stuff that occurs after Act 1, I need to vent about how bizarrely the game completely mishandles/just plain forgets to resolve the plot revolving around Grace, Chloe, & Emily. It's one of the ending's biggest letdowns.
