Had it been a possibility and was available, transitioning as a youth would have saved me multiple surgeries and a lot of depression and anxiety throughout my teenage years. That tradeoff is never considered.

They see trans people as expendable. They would rather ensure that 100 trans people can't transition so long as there is a possibility that 1 person might mistakenly transition. In no other field of medicine is that even remotely ethical to suggest or do.

My premise, as a candidate (albeit for muni office), is that people want change, a fighter, someone with new ideas who will stand up for their ideals -- they don't want "I did a bipartisan deal" or "look at my past experience in a broken system"

My mother just received a $704 MLGW bill (MLGW is the #Memphis municipal utility provider.)

That's about a 400% increase over her usual bill and even in the coldest months, about a 250% increase.

She's on Social Security and has a fixed income. How is she supposed to afford this?
