my hypothesis is if someone plays these games and enjoys them I probably do not want to know them

are there? they don't even let me wear a lab coat while I hit the lever
output on the Wack Game Boy Zone has slowed for the following reasons:
1) a lot of those initial posts were already written!
2) I've got several completed games in the backlog but they deserve a bit more finesse to write up
3) I am becoming the foremost expert on portable Caesars Palace games
"jeffrey epstein and various government officials engaged in cannibalism" in the pokopia title font
I genuinely think it's an excellent game that would have been received better by all parties involved if they didn't demand the Banjo franchise never, ever change
I mean at least the bookends are good, right?
Vestron Video logo, a shiny V made of horizontal lines on a gradient purple background
people assume my handle is because I liked skies of arcadia and sci-fi too much in the early internet days - and that's correct! - but there is another reason
the fact that it took me this long to make videos on the internet is pretty funny, considering
good! so do I! keep the light within your soul lit!
no whimsy left for the fire pomeranian, no joy for the water lizard, only "yeah I identify with the bird that knows what taxes are"
everyone's favorite new pokemon starter being a bird that looks like it's in the middle of a difficult customer call is absolutely a recession indicator
same and same, hell I'm barely attached to it now (and knew better than to make it my job after video games lol)
candidly I also find this argument rich coming from a top 5 career board game youtuber with ads and a patreon, especially directed at people who are likely using it to renew their domain
I definitely bristled and intend to continue abiding by those standards going forward, but it's hard for me to get up in arms about otherwise unpaid hobbyists in an industry so deathly allergic to compensating any kind of press arm. my ambivalence is in part borne of spite tbh, not proud of that
the standards & practices I was trained on in other mediums dictate that review material is not to be sold, and I carry that forward into my own work, but I am not playing shelf cop in a medium so seemingly unable to compensate any of its contributors
yeah sorry board game bsky, I do not give half a shit about the nontroversy of the month
do I sell review copies: no, they are donated or given away assuming I don't keep them
do I care if someone makes fives of dollars from selling a secondhand board game post-review: also no
so did we! honestly incredible what 90s Square was capable of
I specifically want to give credit to Sezco for this thing. I pitched the book club, Kyle came up with the format twists, but Sez was the one who turned it into a multimedia project and he crushed it on every single level. He doesn't have an account on here but he streams!

This was seriously so much fun to participate in and I can't wait for the next one. Games are good! Play more of them!
Our website just released one of the coolest things we've done yet: the start of our book-club-but-for-games, Roll for Discussion!
The first episode is about Brave Fencer Musashi. After this, the next game will be chosen entirely at random from the participants' picks!

SNK makes its debut on The Zone with Dexterity, a game that's kind of like Reversi if the board just occasionally exploded.

it's very good! I was worried it'd be too Res Arcana-ish but the movement mechanic and drafting gives it enough interaction to keep me engaged, and the engines scale well
Dark Pact board game. Some sort of mirror thing showing cultists doing a ritual, the frame has a fanged creature's face.
Cosmoctopus board game cover. Various hooded figures hold their hands aloft to a big purple octopus in the sky, flanked by constellations.
Android Netrunner board game cover. Honestly this isn't even what I'm playing, but there's no single cover for the current version of the game.
The Networks Primetime board game cover. A 4x10 grid of screens showing various shows, actors, etc, with some blacked out to show the game's title.
board game version!
Current game rotation
Epilogue Playback can rip and write saves easier than anything I've seen but I'm don't know if there's a way to use the software w/o the GB Operator hardware or not
on one hand the AI stole that from people, so I'm inclined to say they can do what they want as opposed to ceding that ground
on the other hand I've never liked emoji'd lists anyway so yes please. it's not like an em dash where there's actual utility, it's just tacky
that's super kind, thank you!
2 thoughts on "Dino Crisis - Review" Athos February 23, 2026 at 11:37 am I wasted my time looking this review up and reading it. Absolute trash. Demetri February 23, 2026 at 6:30 pm Hey it could have been worse, you couldβve spent that time playing Dino Crisis! For what itβs worth I played DC2 immediately after and enjoyed it greatly. Glad they figured it out eventually!
folks the reviews of the reviews are in
award winning, game designer!
a netrunner card Baker 3 cost, 1 MU, Program, 3 inf Once per turn, CLICK: Run Archives. When you would approach Archives (after passing all ice), you may pay 1c to instead change the attacked server to HQ or R&D and approach that server. Spend credits only from stealth cards to pay this cost. "Time for a key change."
god this card is sick as hell too. grateful to the NSG folks for sending my goofy ass something this cool. I am going to commit crimes with it.
Exciting times: I got to preview a new Netrunner card for @netrunner.nullsignal.games!
Most people would take this as an opportunity to talk about its strengths, create a puzzle, or do some sort of community engagement.
I did not do those things.

my partner's been working her ass off on this comic. I'm super excited to see all her ideas come to fruition soonish!
I've been assisting with the text edits/structure for a few years now (there's been a lot of writing!) and it's taken shape into something impressive in my extremely biased opinion
