I thought my code was perfect, until a user tried it.
I recently pushed an update to AITab and felt pretty confident. But shortly after, my friend pointed out something I had completely missed something.
He was spot on. The UI was flickering.
The result?
✅ Zero flickering: The UI stays stable until the user is ready.
✅ 90% fewer API calls: No more wasted bandwidth on partial queries.
✅ A happier userbase: (And a much smoother experience).

Every time you type a letter, the interface jumped. Type "H" → Request sent. Type "He" → Request sent. Type "Hel" → Request sent.
I fixed it by implementing a 300ms debounce. Now, the app waits for the user to pause before fetching data.

I don’t believe you can grow as a software engineer just by asking for roadmaps on the internet.
Sure, talking to someone more experienced can help you get some perspective.
But ultimately, real growth comes from experimenting & building side projects outside daily work.
Someone who creates side projects just for the sake of it.
Someone who doesn't get bored and abandons those projects at the first sign of an issue.
Of course, it's not easy. But it is totally worth it.
