Itโs easy and trivial to speculate that war is coming, but watching Carney in particular I feel more concerned now that the risk of this situation militarily spiralling is higher than people are currently anticipating.

Wow, powerful words from Carney and Macron today. Speaking to a world that has truly and irreversibly changed.

This is my 30th year as a journalist.
But I still continue to be shocked daily at the extent to which these same 'news'papers revel in wilful misinformation in order to relentlessly promote the ideology/interests of their senior editors and owners.
An utter disregard and contempt for their readers

Funny animal videos no longer being trustworthy just fucking sucks all around. I love the wonder of animal behavior and what it says about the experience of being alive. It's because it happened in reality that it's so fun. It's not fun if it was just made up. There's no wonder there.
This OpEd is a prime example of the thesis of my book: climate policymaking isnโt actually polarized, but instead unified around a center that dismisses climate science and lies about the economics of fossil fuels.

I had been dreading the treaty anniversary as an occasion to note that we have not done nearly enough, but in July I thought we might be able celebrate it. Because, on 23 July, the international court of justice handed down an epochal ruling....

Snapshot of US EPA's "causes of climate change" webpage as of 12/8/2025. Human causes are no longer mentioned anywhere on the page.
It appears that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has, within the past week, scrubbed a large amount of climate change content from its official website, as well as *removed human-caused warming* from the discussion on its "causes of climate change" page.

An infographic illustrating indigenous and relational philosophies about sustainability and ways of being. The design features a tree-like structure with curved golden branches, each holding a colored circle representing different cultural concepts. At the base, an arrow transitions from "Relations of Domination" to "Relations of Care," showing transformation in values. Ten cultural concepts are displayed with unique icons and locations: Ubuntu (Sub-Saharan Africa) with a turquoise bird Mino-mnaamodzawin (Anishinaabek, USA) Satoyama and Satoumi (Japan) with cherry blossoms Saffu (Oromo, Ethiopia) with a leaf Kawsak Sacha (Kichwa, Ecuador) with a figure by water Nanao รฑu'u (Mixtec, Mexico) Birgejupmi (Sรกpmi, Arctic) with a reindeer Suma Qamaรฑa (Aymara, Bolivia) with a drum Sumak Kawsay (Kichwa, South America) Whakakapa (Aotearoa, New Zealand) with traditional symbols Below, a legend explains each concept's meaning, focusing on human-nature relationships, respect, and sustainable living practices. The overall theme emphasizes transformation from anthropocentric approaches to ecocentric and pluriversal formations based on reciprocity.
๐ฟ Indigenous wisdom offers many ways: 10 diverse philosophies from around the world demonstrate how human-nature relationships can shift from domination to care.

Ok I see news reports lacking clarity. The two roadmaps announced by the COP30 Brazilian presidency on halting deforestation and transitioning away from fossil fuels are voluntary in nature. They were announced at the closing plenary without gavelling. They do not constitute a COP decision

PANAMA: "Mr. President, Panama is extremely disappointed. We were promised a transparent process. That is not what we're seeing. I raise my flag and you ignore it. I raise a point of order, and you ignore it. I sustain it, and it can be ignored."

Colombia press briefing today on the โBelรฉm declarationโ for phaseout was wonderful. We went into COP thinking phaseout would be a good outcome but I never thought weโd be in final stages with 85+ countries calling it a redline, and some going off on their own to host a JT conference in the spring.
