Watching gpt-5.3-codex work is eerie. It just one-shot codex subscription support in gptel with full oauth flow, migration to responses api and all. I love it but it's terrifying

you can try to just go to the terminal, do "unset DISPLAY" and then do "gimp" to start gimp. without the DISPLAY environment variable the app won't be able to connect to X11/Xwayland, forcing it to use Wayland
are those apps running natively or on Xwayland?
or as a horrible solution you can run Xnest, your game under it, and use xdotool
spec for the protocol is here libinput.pages.freedesktop.org/libei/interf... . the only thing I managed to find to actually use/script that is github.com/enigo-rs/enigo (libei backend is behind a feature flag though)
bound to Ctrl+Super+Alt+{Space,Up,Down} via custom shortcuts in GNOME keyboard settings
50 inch 4k monitor with a cat in front of it, all windows are neatly arranged right above cat's ears
code for the paperwm-kitty-space script
An unexpected benefit of using #PaperWM (or other scrollers for that matter) is that you can adjust the height of everything simultaneously. So now I have a toggle for when cats decide to visit me ๐

Accidentally ended up at Uniqlo's event about their bratops, and they are giving away one for a social media post:) Normally I wouldn't do it, but I actually already have like 3 of those bratops and they are really great, so I don't mind giving them a bit of publicity for it :)
but seriously, do try jujutsu, it's THAT good.
(apparently there are other projects that has the name git-upstream, mine is github.com/alesya-h/git...)
I learned jujutsu yesterday (version control system, not martial arts :)) and have been trying it out today on a new project. I never had any issues with git and even made some tools for it (see git-upstream), but my god, jj is freaking amazing. Very highly recommend to try it (it is git-compatible)
"Don't Stop, Girlypop!" is peak transfem culture at its best. Though it was a bit janky until I configured controls and gyro on the Steam Deck, the actual game gameplay is solid and is a ton of fun! Highly recommend to try for anyone who likes high speed shooters!
a screenshot of bluesky mobile app with the search "nix" in the latest posts. image shows 7 consecutive posts within an hour that have the word "nix" and are unrelated to nix the package manager
that one only have "Nix" in it, and adding just "nix" to the filter pulls in a metric ton of unrelated stuff, you can see for yourself if you try to search "nix" in the UI
I mean, I can update it to include whatever it's missing. What does it miss?
ARR is quite slow, yeah. I really loved Heavenward, I think it's still my favourite. Currently I'm in post-Shadowbringers, yet to start Endwalker
Wait, I forgot, do you play ffxiv?
Green (or white, or coloured) vertical lines are fine, just single click the power button to switch off the screen and click it again to turn it back on. It does that occasionally, probably some minor graphics driver glitch, happens on mine and my partner's once in a while.
Yeah, like, holy fuck, majority of games they shown look absolutely atrocious. I'm really glad I ordered a Steam Deck. I liked the first Switch and played it a lot, but looking at the presentation, Switch 2 is pure garbage.
I was just thinking about it lately and this post aligns well with what I also think is likely to happen
Does zigclj stands for what I think it stands for?
I can also highly recommend Turbo Overkill - very fast, very fun, and you even have A FUCKING CHAINSAW in your leg, so sliding also shreds enemies. And I personally slightly prefer neon cyberpunk aesthetic to the hellish one
and also a "dislike", as in "show me less stuff like that" button
I personally really don't like the watch and rewatch metric, because I could have gotten distracted and then I would get stuff that is like whatever that random video I got distracted on. Ideally I would like to have an off switch for the those "passive" metrics,
This is the place I remind people that the reason I thought up "The failure mode of 'clever' is 'asshole'" is because the person in the world who needs to be reminded of this the most is me
Yay! Works nicely! I just miss being able to share posts (just as links to bluesky posts, via standard android sharing functionality).
