Amazing but hardly surprising. I mean, what does one expect from an explicitly genocidal regime?

Of course, we agree here. I think I’d push it further an say the US is in a perpetual state of war by design. Diplomacy is dead. Mediation is dead.
Then kills the combatants as well as labeling anyone in proximity their shields and kills them too.
Not sure there’s any actual figures in this but there seems to be a lot of anecdotal evidence that many civilians were killed and maimed here. We choose not to label these tactics what they are: terrorism. Israel deliberately creates the conditions in which these groups develop…
That’s because Israel has an extremely broad definition of who’s a combatant.
I feel like you’re contradicting yourself here. Aren’t the downstream effects of the bombings a wholesale disregard for human life? All this precision munitions crap is deliberately pushed by the warmakers precisely to obfuscate and blur the true level of destruction.
The entrenched donor-class won’t allow it. All they seem capable of boosting are the centrists, technocrat types.
Whether deliberate or not, the policies in place that allow for this sort of carnage produce the identical result. Same with Obama and the weddings and the like. It’s a wholesale disregard for life.
I’ll also add, back to the original point, that the US attacking an apparently unarmed Iranian sub invited to participate in naval exercises with a 3rd country IN international waters prompts me to believe anything re schools and hospitals.
Not that anyone gives a shit who I did or did not vote for, that’s precisely why I think Harris deserved to lose. There has to be punishment for aiding and abetting genocide.
73 years ago today, Joseph Stalin died.
What did he focus on in the final years of his life? How did Soviet leadership and society react to his death? Let’s revisit what Joshua Rubenstein had to tell us from his book, The Last Days of Stalin.

There’s about zero chance the D’s will demand accountability. See Obama re GWB.
They’re all war crimes but the US will never be held to account and the media here will never label them as such.
I think that’s a generous reading of things under this admin and all others.
I should be clear, I’m referring to Israel’s genocide and America’s full-throated backing of it.
Of course they were.
Damnit! I’ll be coming back from Pittsburgh with my son for his spring break.
I have to say that post-10/7 I deliberately let all the scales fall from my eyes. “We”—America, the West, whatever—are just as capable of the worst barbarities we, as a collective, attribute to others. There is absolutely nothing better or higher or more enlightened about us Americans.
@ersatzverite.bsky.social Guess they targeted incorrectly. Twice. Along with the hospitals and other non-military targets Israel-US are striking.
Book #15. A brilliant, deeply researched, balanced, and nuanced examination of Cuba’s engagement with several African countries through 1975. The 2nd vol, which I read last year, goes deep on Cuba in Angola & their essential support in defeating SWAPO/SA.

However, I’m old enough to remember the bombing of the al-Shifa hospital, which was, as we all know, a misdirected Hamas missile.
Probably and definitely.
They’re able to strike Khamenei in his living room or whatever but we’re supposed to believe they *accidentally* bombed a school because it’s sort of near a naval base?
One would think the editor of that magazine was a former IDF prison guard of Palestinians. That’d be weird, if true.
