Absolutely delightful. Not especially a cat person, but definitely a fan of Jim
Do yourself a favour and enjoy this lovely thread
A new paper in JAME revealed a growing sleep deficit among high school students, which impacts cognitive ability and depressive symptoms.
There is a need for systemic change, such as "later school start times or reductions in bedtime digital media"
I'm too bored of this to try and be clever about it anymore.
If you think that two men kissing, or two women kissing, requires any more explanation than a man kissing a woman, that is homophobia.
...and the DLD Project Summit has gone live - such an amazing programme - run don't walk. FREE for the DLD community and only $39 for professionals; all the programme virtual and accessible for 3 months viewing #DevLangDis

That's a hard question. The one that I think will change my practice the most was one about talking with families about their child's DLD diagnosis. By Jeanne Tighe. We'll be looking at it on Thursday at the @naplic.bsky.social network www.naplic.org.uk/events/
That's rather funny as you are one of the most prolific users of #DevLangDis
Well supported families = better outcomes for young people with DLD.
Join us next week for the award winning 'DLD Together' so you can empower families about DLD.

Young offenders 'with DLD were more likely to have their behaviour interpreted as non-compliance.'
Which of course has serious implications for them!
This is why we need far greater awareness of Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)
#DevLangDis
Doing a little reading today and really struck by the increase in research about Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). So good to see.
Really big change from a few years ago.

Thank you. Good to know the efforts are noticed.

This line really captures our thoughts:
'great policy on paper must translate into brilliant practice in the classroom.'
And we encourage all who work in the SLCN sector to get involved in the consultation
As co-chair of the Speech, Language and Communication Alliance, here's our quick response to the schools white paper.
In particular we are emphasising early identification and empowering and training teachers.

Slightly bonkers folk tradition. Fun and bringing community together. Long may it continue.

It looks huge. Will the whole building be the museum?
A group of approximately 15 people wearing white hard hats and neon yellow safety vests stand on the rooftop of a construction site for a topping out ceremony. They are posing behind a blue pedestal branded with "Dominus" and "McAleer & Rushe." Above them, a crane hoists a large concrete block bearing the McAleer & Rushe logo. Modern London skyscrapers are visible in the background.
A high-angle wide shot of a multi-story building under construction at 65 Crutched Friars in London. The concrete frame is largely complete, with blue safety netting on lower levels and several blue construction cranes towering over the site. In the background, the iconic "Gherkin" skyscraper and other City of London high-rises are visible under a cloudy sky.
Last month we celebrated a major milestone: the topping out of our future home at 65 Crutched Friars. This was a special construction marker and an occasion to recognise that Britainβs first permanent Migration Museum is now moving from vision to reality!

Agree.
And also, I'm also unclear who is going to be the likely employer of new staff. It's DfE money. But not many LA employ SaLT directly. Joint commissioning also takes time.
And the Year 7 review could take up massive amounts of time. So in the short term could create a pressure
This podcast about people working in and with their communities is rather inspiring. Some people are incredible. It's the perfect antidote to everything else and little dose of hope.
