We've been a bit late to the party but researchers are seeking adults with Developmental Language Disorder, dyslexia and autism. As well as those without a neurodevelopmental diagnosis. Details below.

We need more research about DLD in bi/multilingual children. Maryam Awawdeh is doing just that. Surveys for Speech and Language Therapists and families.
Please share and help to increase understanding of Developmental Language Disorder.

This was a fantastic event, and emphasised the power of bringing people together to talk through common issues, share knowledge as well as the literature.
We hope the outcome will be better practice with resources to support families at the point of DLD diagnosis.

Promises to be a great opportunity to develop practice in this crucial area.

I'd always had good service with Trailfinders but on seeing their continued funding of GB News hate, I wrote to them. After their derisory response I went into a branch and told them I was taking my business elsewhere. Never using them again.

Great day talking to lots of SENDCOs today. Every time I mentioned I was a Speech and Language Therapist, they replied ' you must be in demand.'

I totally agree, and secretly hope that one day it can segue into Developmental Language Difference.
We are still in the early days of a long journey, starting from a low base. People with DLD don't care about the term. They want awareness and services

Most people with DLD just use the acronym, rather like ADHD. And I have seen the term 'DLDers'.
Before 2016 terminology was a mess. So there is no way we want to go back to that.

It might be an imperfect term but it was decided by international consensus in 2017. acamh.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....
It has given people work DLD and their families a central point to rally around and find each other. Without one term that is not possible.

As an author who knows that at least one AI company used my books, this is personal. Most authors make modest income at best, whilst these companies have unfathomablely deep pockets.

I’m one of the ten thousand authors of this big 'blank' book, published today on the first day of the London Book Fair by the Society of Authors. It’s a plea to Big Tech to stop stealing the work of individual writers, artists and journalists.

Thousands of authors publish β€˜empty’ book in protest over AI using their work About 10,000 writers including Kazuo Ishiguro, Philippa Gregory and Richard Osman join copyright campaign

AI is based upon pirated work. Big names got behind this campaign but probably every author has been ripped off in some way.

A new paper in JAME revealed a growing sleep deficit among high school students, which impacts cognitive ability and depressive symptoms.

There is a need for systemic change, such as "later school start times or reductions in bedtime digital media"

I'm too bored of this to try and be clever about it anymore.

If you think that two men kissing, or two women kissing, requires any more explanation than a man kissing a woman, that is homophobia.

That's a hard question. The one that I think will change my practice the most was one about talking with families about their child's DLD diagnosis. By Jeanne Tighe. We'll be looking at it on Thursday at the @naplic.bsky.social network www.naplic.org.uk/events/
