AGI = artificial general incelligence, has entered the chat.
best part of this is that the llm is epic and cringe. the future holds an avalanche of spam from bots trained on terrible twitter threads
The average developer salary is my new GenAI signal. If it's really about developers leveraging AI and unlocking new value, then I expect salaries to increase.
If GenAI is about increasing profit margins, then I expect the average developer salary, and headcount, to decrease over time.
More than 500 private jets departed the Bay Area immediately after the Super Bowl ended
Can't be overstated how much the ultra wealthy are single handedly destroying the planet
If you've been laid off by the Washington Post this week and have any questions re: digital security, please email me on runa@granitt.io. I'll help you pro-bono for the rest of the month.
No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.
Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...
What a surprise. knock me down with a feather.
6) As a final point...for all of the criticism of public service broadcasting from certain sections of the Nordic political spectrum, trust in PSB in the Nordic region is the among the highest (if not THE highest) in both Europe and the world. Nordic PSBs should repeat this constantly.
1) Public service broadcasting (PSB) under political attack across Europe. PSB orgs & supporters must do better at pointing out how PSB is -- by far -- the most trusted news outlets across the continent. In an EBU study of 26 markets, PSB ranked as most trusted in 16, and 2nd to 6th in 7 more.
Organisations that design AI agent systems are constrained to produce designs which are copies of the communication structures of these organisations.
5/6
All communication must happen according to well defined protocols and nothing must be implemented until the full plan is in place and reviewed. An agent doll house with enterprise architecture, waterfall, and RUP.
4/6
Then I listened to a podcast with an AI agent setup with a manager agent that is orchestrating but cannot do any implementation, an architect agent that breaks down the tasks into subtasks, agents implementing features according to plan, which they pass to validation agents comparing to specs.
3/6
When I heard about Geoffrey Huntley's Ralph Wiggum loop, it reminded me of typical startup-style sloppy agile - you come up with an idea, turn it into rough specs, break it down to a rough plan, work on the backlog, and iterate on the task until it is good enough to mostly match the specs.

We all know Conway's law. There seems to be a Conagents's law as well.

It was once IMHO, but it is now outdated. 🤷♂️
Today, 27 Jan 2026, is Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Not only should we remember the millions killed by the Nazis almost a century ago,
We should also remember it is our duty to STOP it as it begins to happen now.
TFW when you get an interview question and think "Did I write that question in the interview manuscript long ago?" 🤔
Tweet exchange in which a photo of Anne Hathaway is posted by @TheRoyalSerf, to which user @VvSchweetz24 replies "@grok...do your thing. @Grok replies: Anne Hathaway isn't Jewish; she was raised Catholic but left the church. She married Adam Shulman (who is Jewish) in 2012 and celebrates Jewish holidays with their kids. SHe's played Jewish roles, like in "Armageddon Time."
pretty sure he meant the other thing, grok, but very cool that those are your two things
Timberborn närmar sig.
(Timberborn = spel som utspelar sig i en framtid där människorna är utdöda och bävrar dominerar världen. Aka "Lumberpunk".)
Bävrar ❤️❤️❤️
A wrong Grok post making up a white guy who stopped the Australian mass shooting.
BBC 'Hero' who wrestled gun from Bondi shooter named as Ahmed al Ahmed Emily Atkinson Sun, December 14, 2025 at 1:06 p.m. CST 2 min read A "hero" bystander who was filmed wrestling a gun from one of the Bondi Beach attackers has been named as 43-year-old Ahmed al Ahmed. Video verified by the BBC showed Mr Ahmed run at the gunman and seize his weapon, before turning the gun round on him, forcing his retreat. Mr Ahmed, a fruit shop owner and father of two, remains in hospital, where he has undergone surgery for bullet wounds to his arm and hand, his family told 7News Australia.
This is fucking grim. Somebody invented a white guy, an "IT professional" named Edward Crabtree, who stopped the Bondi shooting and spread it all over the internet, which was picked up by AI agents and slop aggregation sites.
The real hero is a fruit stand owner named Ahmed el Ahmed.
Ryan Moulton @moultano Oil is the most Lovecraftian thing that actually exists. You're telling me that there's a black ichor under the earth, made from the ancient dead, whose burning can realize all the dreams of man but only at the price of slowly returning the earth to its primordial state?
"World's first potential trillionaire has killed 600,000 people, including 400,000 children" is the only headline that anyone should ever read about Elon Musk

Vital piece of investigative reporting from Sky. They've uncovered the X algorithm which feeds users extremist right wing material from the moment they join the site. It is a far-right radicalisation engine, by design.

OH: "I like dev tool X, and don't see a reason to use anything else."
I have heard this many times. Said it myself.
This time, X is older than the person who said it. I think that's a first.
(X is not a language nor system, but easy to replace; also not so trivial that it doesn't need to evolve.)
