For years I’ve followed the quest for the No Borders Collective Bookstore to have a brick and mortar location. What a thrill to visit their pop up for its soft open over the weekend. Grand opening next weekend. They’ll be there the next two months. 37th St & 34th Ave in Astoria. Check them out.

I want to call out that the landscaper comment is real.

It's very isolationist! "I want and am entitled to what's *mine* and anything that helps the community is a direct threat to that"

Last Wednesday, a car hit one of my neighbors and dragged him several hundred feet. The car fled the scene and he's in the hospital.

The town caved and removed stretches of lanes from the road. I've only lived here for a few years, but there's been at least 10 instances of kids getting hit by cars!!!

I wrote the town in October begging them to commit fully, otherwise someone would injured gravely.

There's been an intense debate about bike lanes in town. "bike lanes so kids can get to school safely" vs. "fuck you, where will my landscapers park?"
