#Sciencepolicy challenges: disinformation, eroding trust, constrained budgets.

But opportunity exists in #EMCRsโ€”closest to research frontiers, trained in open science, ready to challenge groupthink.

Inclusion isn't a favor. It's necessity for future-fit science advice.

#EMCRs bring immediacy to research, open science mindsets, & diverse perspectives that #sciadvisce urgently need. Seniority offers depth, but juniority offers adaptability to navigate uncertainty.

Both are essential. #SciencePolicy

Bulwarks of science diplomacy under attack? The role of international research infrastructures in current geopolitics - International Science Council From CERN to ITER, international research infrastructures have long symbolized what global cooperation in science can achieve, even in times of deep political tension. In this guest op-ed, Jan Marcoโ€ฆ

International Research Infrastructures such as @cern.bsky.social are some of humanity's proudest & most impressive achievements. Yet with cooperative #multilateralism teetering, this also makes them geopolitically exposed.

#CSPC2025: Chair of #INGSAAfrica, Shaheen Motala-Timol. Historical legacies still shape how policy is made. And despite having a large percentage of the global population, Africa has a tiny percentage of the global research budget. This is a major concern for having tailored data to work with

INGSA-VP, Soledad Quiroz: Canada invests 1.8% GDP in research - Latin America invests 0.5% GDP. And it is not evenly shared. So resources are severely limited.

In Canada ~15 scientists per 1000 people, in Chile, 1 scientist per 1000 ppl. And for many countries, there just isn't the data. #CSPC2025
