A gray tabby squints annoyed ar the camera, his ears tilted back giving him the appearance of a sleepy owl. Heβs got soft fur and a cute little collar.
POV you wanted a nap but did not offer enough pets beforehand

My favorite part of using the internet is the countless authentication codes.
That's 90% of using the internet now, what fun for us all
No it's not always better than nothing! Like presenting inaccurate information in alt text is actually WORSE.
Probably trained on this

The Object Export Options dialogue in Adobe InDesign showing the Alt Text tab. The input for the alt text reads 'A black and white image of a nude figure, AI generated content'
A lil AI story:
I was updating a doc in InDesign, specifically my logo image.
I went to add alt text on new logo. I got this AI generated alt description by default.
My logo is a hummingbird lol.
Alt text is one of the best things to show as an example of why all AI outputs need validation.
Three panel comic of two people talking. Text reads: WE INVENTED A ROBOT THAT ANSWERS QUESTIONS WE JUST HAVE TO FEED IT 10 BABY GIRAFFES A DAY BUT IT ANSWERS THE QUESTIONS CORRECTLY? OH MY GOODNESS, NO. NO NO NO NO NO
This comic is sublime

Surviving in an extremely neurotypically designed world as a neurodivergent person is in of itself a significant challenge.
And while NT people can recognize this, it can take awhile to make the changes we tend to recognize as urgent.
Itβs part of the reason self care and accommodation is critical
Also if you havenβt read Cassandra Speaks, I found it a very good book on how women are depicted in passed down myth and story in a way that has eroded the true nature of the original writings and the women themselves
π― yes, Cassandra was neurodivergent coded
Itβs one of many reasons I hate the posing of neurodivergence as a superpower or a curse.
It is neither of these things, it has its pros and cons.
Itβs just a way of existing.
Humanity requires and thrives because of diversity, neurodiversity falls within this.
So yes, there are pros and cons.
I like that Iβm someone who sees a lot of details at once
Itβs one of many cool things that come of my neurotype.
I do wish sometimes I didnβt see systemic problems and abuses as clearly or quickly as I do.
It is exhausting being bombard with so many moral and systemic failings constantly.

Both of my cats seem to be hellbent on screaming unless I am sitting right next to them at all times.
Iβve been in tech for awhile so Iβve dealt with this problem countless times.
And the short term thinking of an engineering/leadership team can be a necessity in a startup.
But Bluesky is too big for this bias now
And holding on to that will create weak infrastructure that costs more next year.
Ah a classic problem: βWe get funding for this so itβs the only thing that mattersβ
I would challenge the Bsky team to consider the long term, not just the quarter
A protocol is still a user experience
AND like or not they have a growing platform that is doing heavy lifting for their growth.
This is the behavior of a startup dev team not ready for a platform that is accelerating as it is.
Which means guardrails need to be put in place to protect the engineers from being exposed to direct user criticism, and to protect users from upset devs.
Iβve seen people be fired for this kind of thing tbh.
Iβm sorry no software is good enough to have such a fragile ego about it.
And frankly, if youβre using AI to do most of your output, you VERY MUCH can stand to take it less personally.
Bluesky devs mocking their own user base and getting overly defensive about vibe coding is a REALLY bad look.
I work on extremely public work and when users donβt like what we do, my job is to stfu and listen.
Itβs at minimum incredibly unprofessional to be doing this rn.
It's easy to condescend, but when the media is amplifying the marketing, organizations are blaming layoffs on AI being able to fully replace professional workers, and the system sounds so confident, users will assume it does the thing.
Blaming users deflects responsibility from the product makers.
It is not hyperbolic to say that ICE is domestic terrorism.
I knew Iβm neurodivergent, I self identify as autistic, but it would seem itβs a well known thing that Iβm AuDHD.
News to me but oh well better now than never
Iβm quickly learning everyone else already knew about this but me π
Funny you should mention it, the only reason I noticed it is my AirPods disconnected right after I got off the bus and it started driving away!
There are many memories I am reflecting on in this moment that I am realizing are related to my neurodivergence.
And while I wish I had known much much sooner Iβll try to make the best of it now, itβs good to know it helped your friend π
Apologies I know thereβs a lot of horrible things happening (always) that I should focus on
but if the last few years have taught me anything itβs that I have to learn about these things and how I can self accommodate so I can keep going
Well, a few days ago I got an ADHD diagnosis which I was skeptical but warily accepting of.
Since then I left my laptop at work, and left my phone on the bus.
And after I am done being very upset for losing my phone, this is going to be funny, because the universe loves to immediately humble me.
I love watching people use LLMs in public. Theyβll reply to a breaking news article and say β@grok is this true?β Babe where do you think itβs about to pull its answer from
I call my vibe βAl Coreβ
Youβre right, itβs an inconvenient truth!
