I like belated birthday wishes! It means my celebration gets extended! LOL! Thanks for the thoughts. It was a wonderful and relaxing day!
I’m glad I moved. Kansas was awful before this. Now it’s just deadly. And I know that Idaho probably isn’t far behind… which makes me incensed that I even moved back.
That sounds super frustrating and I kinda hate that for you. Not that I would like any part of you to be able to have a cigarette… because they *are* awful. But choice is a thing, and it sounds like you weren’t given that.
My dad went from chain to minimal to a pack a day to quitting. All to do it over and over again. He now has stage four metastatic lung cancer and has had two lobectomies. I can’t smell a cigarette without getting physically ill now. (FYI, he’s doing okay, clinical trial is going well.)
That looks spectacular!
I like how the new cons begin with “you’re awesome, your books are amazing”. I dislike the “now pay us for doing nothing” bit that follows.
Thanks so much!
Thank you for the wonderful wishes!

It’s my birthday! I’m so happy to be celebrating with you all! Your friendships have strengthened and sustained me, and I can’t wait to see what the next year brings for all of us!!!
If you want to do something for me today, please drop a rating or review on Amazon, Goodreads, and/or Storygraph!
SFWA has just let members know that they’re lower than usual on Nebula nominations this year, with just days left to nominate. If you’re still looking for short stories, may I humbly suggest you read this one. If you like it, I’d be honored to receive your nomination.
That’s the spousicle’s fave too!
OMG! Mathnet was my favorite!
Honestly, the spousicle and I were both latchkey kids, so the actual correct answer would have been @pbs.org raised us. LOL! We both still remember the 321 Contact song and Square One theme!

Okay... anyone out there have good BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+ authors with audiobooks in the SFF genres to recommend? I still have a couple credits left!
Looks very interesting! And the cover is sooo cool!
I have a ton of Audible credits. So I’m looking for your best sci-fi and fantasy! Genre blends in those spaces are fab too! Give me recommendations for 2024-2026 released audiobooks! Bonus for small press, indie pubbed, and BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ authors!!! Self recommendations encouraged!!!
I mean she made that tee and tank combo ICONIC!
Yeah… crew neck has to be paired with an open band collar or some kind of standing collar or something with contrasting visual interest like a black halter… and thus the cool Starbuck relaxed look.

Would any LGBT+ writers/artists creating in the dark SFF/horror genres be interested in being interviewed for the Divination Hollow Review's annual Pride month event?
If you are, please drop a comment or send me a DM 😊

@victoriastrauss.com Hi!
Not sure if you've run into this "contest" before, but I wanted to give a heads-up as it feels scammy and they've started following a bunch of independent and unpublished (including querying) authors.
The contest claims it's for novels, but they only ever assess the
I am reminded of the tortoise and the hare. Spoiler: the cheating, lazy hare doesn’t win.
Thanks so much!!!
