Faith • Narrative Producer — 15:16 Alright so, @Receiving needs to hear this, even though it's not strictly a Stardust update. As you know, we are in post-production now for our first release and that's a huge milestone for us. It's a big chunk of storytelling, between three and four hours. We have lots we want to share and even more we want to do. We had an extended preview lined up to release on Ash Wednesday, that I was excited to get to you. But I have to be honest, that was predicated on the idea that I could use my own discretionary income to augment our meager budget and keep things moving along. With the federal government invading my hometown and threatening protesters and bystanders with violence as they kidnap and murder our neighbors — and now with a court ruling that gives them carte blanche to do that — things aren't looking great. There's a general strike on Friday, the first one in a century. What few resources I have to keep the project going at a regular clip may need to be temporarily rescinded in whole or in part. That puts self-imposed deadlines out of reach. Things are bad here in the Minneapolis area. Whatever you've heard, as a lifelong resident I promise you it's worse, because the national and international news is clogged up with the President's deflections on the world stage. (Minnesota Public Radio is a good local source if you are curious.) I really do think we are barreling toward open conflict. I really can't make predictions for the future right now. I haven't decided what I'm going to do for myself yet. It's impossible to know. If I can stay, I will. If my life is directly threatened, I'll have to pack up the car and run to the border. We'll see. Know that the rest of the team here — all the purple and blue names — work incredibly hard on putting this silly queer space adventure together. I'm so proud of them. It's not going anywhere. I've given Alexis the go-ahead to release what she can in the event I'm truly incapacitated, …
I have white privilege, so I don't want to oversell this, even as a queer woman. But things are dire in my hometown right now. The constitutional crimes the feds are committing against Minnesotans are only escalating. We may be headed to civil conflict. Our @sublightgames.com fans deserve an update.
