"you need to learn how to use gAI or you'll get left behind!"
counterpoint!
the absolute fastest way to render yourself unemployable is to build your skillset around a tool that does your thinking for you, that everyone has access to, and that one company can change or take away at any time
sure the first time you touch a hot pan, you pull away in pain. some people learn a lesson while others forget and repeat it. and then there are those who try to touch it for longer and longer times until it feels worse to not be touching it. and that's why I'm here with you today on bluesky folks
I think some of it is! If you look at the second daily image, there's some bright white in the evenings. I checked the photos and the Moon is definitely there

things every single republican president of your lifetime has done
- started a war in the middle east
- completely destroyed the economy
I'm definitely yellin at clouds but I think the answer is and always has been to make a website lol, even the most 90s era trash site as long as you control it. Everything else can be a megaphone for that and you engage with those in whatever ways makes you laugh

A reverse shot of the original drawing where you can see what's on the paper. All it says is AAAAAAA
<the kind of stoned you can really only be in a hotel room> television commercials offer a look into a fantasy world that's devoid of advertising. I watched this prescription drug family attend a baseball game in a stadium where EVERYONE was wearing solid color shirts, no branding visible anywhere.
washington post headline saying "the power of AI transfixed wall st and washington. recent research suggests it may be a mirage" as if these idiots just crawled out of a cave
oh word???? no shit????? for real????????
I ran a few bots using Google Apps Scripts. UrlFetchApp class to make API calls and triggers to schedule hourly posts. After writing the code it just ran by itself for years. This was on Twitter but it works the same for Bluesky
"My husband complains about the cold," the man said. "Can you teach me a spell to keep him warm?"
"I can teach you to bind hair into a net to catch heat," the wizard said, "using arcane counting and a pair of fine wands."
After a while, the man said "Isn't this knitting?"
"This, too, is magic."
Don't be fooled. We still have months to go.

tfw that automation you slapped together hastily fires off successfully
I'm always surprised and delighted by how many people are following @colorofseattle.bsky.social. Thanks for sticking around and I hope I can do some more cool stuff in the future!
I've always called them colorwheels but I don't think I've said that anywhere but in my code
Monthly aggregations will also be posted. These are circular visualizations with concentric rings divided into 24 segments of color. Each ring is a day of the month with each segment as an hour of the day. The outermost ring is the first day of the month.

I'll be posting daily aggregations which collect all the colors from the previous day in 2 images. One with just the primary color & another with the color spread where the width of the colors in the band are proportional to the amount of that color in the sky at that hour.

Missing data will show up as black. Sometimes the power went out and for a big chunk of last year, the camera was down because I was getting some work done on my roof. I also replaced the camera at that time. You can actually see the colors getting greener with time in the middle years.
A rectangular data visualization of all the colors of the sky recorded over 5 years. Each column represents a day and each row represents an hour of the day.
I've been running @colorofseattle.bsky.social orofseattle.bsky.social for 5 years now! Here's a visualization of all the colors I've recorded over the years.
I would really love for social media to get to the part of Monsters Inc where they figure out that laughter is more powerful than screams
get back at him by making a bunch of terrible decisions right now
2D animation! More broadly, illustration but art school in general!
Every day I curse this mortal form which limits how much I can do in a day. And rejoice in a world with nearly infinite things that I would revel in exploring. It's a real mixed bag.
A still from the Simpsons. Everyone is watching TV and Millhouse is sobbing on the floor. The caption reads "When are they going to get to the stuff relevant to my job (sobbing)"
