New episode of The Sheppertonian - out now π§
In this episode, musician Sally Kemp on the simple truth about creativity: you have to sit down and start. We talk about songwriting, discipline, confidence, and why the first step is often the hardest part.
I forgot that Star Wars fans are rather passionate about Star Wars. Iβm only half way through this rewatch and noticing all the little details more the second time.
Liking it is not compulsory π
Not studied it too much. I mean itβs a tough job for any composer isnβt it, when John Williams has been the mainstay.
Tracking a guide vocal for a session singer for a project Iβve started with a lovely company. Itβs for a female vocal so itβll mean adjusting the key once theyβve heard it. Canβt wait to share it once itβs out in the world π€β¨π πΆ (Itβs the weekend so coffee is compulsory π€£).
All goodβ¦Iβm quite enjoying the connective story that follows ROTS in the same way perhaps that Rogue One is a companion to ANH. Iβm not saying itβs my favourite ever Star War, but Iβm enjoying the little Easter eggs and attention to detail.
I was in two minds on the first watch, but the young Leia arc is central to the story, and Iβm enjoying it more second time round.
Iβm so sorry, I didnβt realise William was involved. Even more intriguing to know who did what β¨
Actually enjoying it more the second time.
Rewatching Obi-Wan Kenobi and really enjoying it. The score from Natalie Holt is π₯β¨

They seem to like my music on BBC Radio 3 Unwind's Sleeping Forecast. This time it's 'stop everything' from my 'and breathe' EP from 2023. The announcer @neilnunes1.bsky.social has such an amazing voice, and the whole show idea is brilliant.
Itβs a cold and wet February day. But Iβve just written a couple of cosy lullaby ideas for a meeting tomorrow, so thatβs nice π€πΆ
The BBC has achieved so much (and got a few things wrong), but a highlight for me in recent times has been Radio 3 Unwind. Itβs magical.
This might be the most important episode of the podcast Iβve ever recorded
The Ticket Bank is like a food bank for culture. I hate that it needs to exist, but Iβm glad it does

That's pretty shocking news, Native Instruments, one of the largest companies in music making software, is in preliminary insolvency.
This will have some serious ramifications for both users and employees

Another spin on the Sleeping Forecast, this time βhopefulβ from my βbe stillβ EP. Incidentally, I also adapted this track to score the documentary short about Milton Keynesβ green spaces, by the animation and TV legend that is @timtriffic.bsky.social now playing on loop at the MK Museum.
I just woke up from a nap and somehow while I was asleep, everyone on the bus has figured out we are not going to the right place
Delighted to be included in this fantastic collection of podcasts. Thank you to Frank Racioppi at @earworthy.bsky.social for his kind words and support, it really means a lot. I'll be making more Sound Sessions soon.
