But really the highest value improvement I think I made was simply making destination signs consistent with the names of the terminals in schedules and transit data

A tiny reminder that this was enabled by about a month of pixel-by-pixel re-creation of several fonts to enable the same destination sign to appear the same across 4 generations and vendors of head sign hardware and about 10 different display resolutions

This particular train is already running under ATO, so it's effectively robotic and the operator is an attendant who opens the door and operates when it needs to be run manually in rare instances
Railfan windows and the like are essentially free advertising for not only transit operators, but transit as a whole.
They make people (especially kids) excited, they drive interest in how systems work, they make infrastructure feel real and not alien.
Pushing all that away is self-destructive.
