Yes, some of the 6502 implementations I saw were for the Apple II, and tried not to interfere too much with the ROM code. For example, the zero page held and manipulated stack pointers (data, return, TOS) and some other key elements. I never wrote a 6502 Forth, mainly Intel, Motorola, and Zilog.

Thanks for the story. Many of the coolest projects from early (and even later) computing were written in Forth. From Novix to GreenArrays to space probes to Asimovian psychohistory. 'Syntonicity', is part of it - a direct channel between human minds and machines.

Way back when, there was an article in one of the early computer mags where some guy published his entire BASIC mega-program called 'The Creator'. It was a program that wrote programs conjured up by user prompts and decisions rather that coding prowess. So 'vibe coding' isn't new.

My 2 cents worth (although Canada got rid of pennies in 2012, so it rounds down to 0).

I'm not rich, but it isn't money that stops me from buying cool stuff, it's space. Anything bigger than a Pi Pico is hard for me to find desktop space for. USB peripherals and connectivity really help.
